Post-bulking *PICS* of me v.imnowfatlikechristophers

Ok, these first pics are from October, I was about 200lbs (6'1"). This was after about 5 months of cutting. I have been bulking hardcore since then and am now at 230 lbs. I'm taking next week off for Spring Break then dieting all spring and summer. Here are pics taken today. So there they are. Being thsi fat gives me plenty of motivation to cut. I can't wait to get back to eating healthy, mixing in more physical activity, and overall just feeling better.

live strong! Nice gains Post your very very very starting pic for some motivation to the light weights here

Excellent Work Werdna. Excellent gains. I admire people like you who can bulk and cut with hard work.

How long have you been training?

shit, ur still thin even in the bulking pictures, i need to post some of my fat ass whenb i weighed 265...

you should stay fat for awhile before cutting

I would have been happy with the body you had in the first picture, damn.

get fatter

wow, quite a difference, how have your numbers changed?

holy shit. good bulk

you got you some love handles like me

Welsh0913 live strong! Nice gains Post your very very very starting pic for some motivation to the light weights here

Ceaze you should stay fat for awhile before cutting why?

Your teeth are very very white

Werdna why? More fat = more gains

Welsh0913 Your teeth are very very white Poor photoshopping. I do it all the time!

nice progress broly

amazing, are body types are so much alike. I look like your current pics right now as well. You don't look like you have a lot of fat around your waist, but its there isn't it? Thats how I am. Looks like your neck/chin area got a little fat on it, thats the only thing pissing me off about bulking.

SickLife holy shit. good bulk .

What are you gonna cut back down to?

i have those same board shorts good job bulking

any gains on your lifts?

Woah.. nice work, fatmo.

Good Job on gaining but like you said you don't look 230

have your gains gone up respectively? if not, hang out at fattyville for a while

using chains for bench help alot?

using chains for bench help alot?

just wondering like if you use lets says 135 in weights... and then put chains on it totaling out to weigh 48 pounds... worth using or not??

i have no idea what ur talking about, chains? why not just put a pair of 25's?

you need to be benching alot more than 135 before you even consider chains, christophers has repeatedly said that you need a good base before you start any type of this crap

Mistich you need to be benching alot more than 135 before you even consider chains i dont understand the chain thing...

depends on your goals. Read this article: http://www.powerpage.net/chains.html

ahh thanks for the link, get it now

eh i already rep at 185...

so i mean i have a stable base already...

i was just giving an example that thats how much i'd be using right there...

XsLiCk i was just giving an example that thats how much i'd be using right there... get to 315, then uyse chains

cootercritter i have no idea what ur talking about, chains? why not just put a pair of 25's? Do not speak of that which you do not know. Chains are used to increase resistance as the ROM reaches the top.

mike get to 315, then uyse chains I would say even higher than that. I am at 365 and not using them. I probably won't use anything until at least 405. The only thing that is holding you back is your lack of motivation and eating, not the equipment (unless you only have like a bar and two 45's or something).

tize shut up faggot, he stated that he didnt know about them. Kettle...black...get banned

Guys, guys...calm the fuck down. We are becoming worse then OT: MAIN now. Have some respect for eachother. Am I wrong?

Gutrat Guys, guys...calm the fuck down. We are becoming worse then OT: MAIN now. Have some respect for eachother. Am I wrong? no u dont neeed to use chains, repping 185 is not a solid base!!

vettedude no u dont neeed to use chains, repping 185 is not a solid base!! Wait, you misunderstood. I agree, not good enough base to start using chains. Your not ready for chains yet XslicK.

Gutrat Wait, you misunderstood. I agree, not good enough base to start using chains. Your not ready for chains yet XslicK. no i did not, i was just agreeing with u that we should not let F&N become gheyed up, and confirming the idea that he has no need for chains.

Is all natural a thing of the past?

Is all natural a thing of the past?

It seems like so many people are using stuff now days. I never took anything, not even creatine. I dunno, I guess Id rather get there without using anything ya know? Im sure there are a ton of people out there who DONT use anything, it just seems like most are, ya know?

a lot of people are all natural, a lot of people juice.... either way their results are more directly correlated with their motivation and knowledge so i dont see what the big deal is

im guessing youve never used protein either and you weigh 140

Actually im 6', 220. all natural.

i consider protein to be natural... i mean... you eat food with protein in it... so how is that not natural?

Widowmaker Actually im 6', 220. all natural. % body fat?

XsLiCk i consider protein to be natural... i mean... you eat food with protein in it... so how is that not natural? you also eat food with creatine in it

XsLiCk i consider protein to be natural... i mean... you eat food with protein in it... so how is that not natural? well your body produces creatine, and testosterone, just not in the same levels as you get from supplements.

protein is something you need to build muscle, regardless if it is "natural' in your eyes....got any pics?

Honestly never check it. I can post my pic if youd like. My maxes are... Bench:260 ( i suck at bench) Squat: 450 Dead: 505

out. i routinely take bcaa's, and cycle creatine and ecy stacks here and there.

infinite loop out. i routinely take bcaa's, and cycle creatine and ecy stacks here and there. Then you still are natural

Best pic I got...

Video of 500 deadlift?

And please dont think Im knocking people who do use them or anything cuz im not.

I don't consider creatine/protein as "not natural". roids i would consider cheating.

Hip Hippo Video of 500 deadlift? This is just like racing huh, no timeslip, no care. Sorry no vids, I THINK i have one of 405 somewhere lol. But that's a far cry. I dont expect yall to believe me.

If it doesn't change hormonal levels to unhuman levels then it is natural to me and on that note, I am all natural.

Widow you are naturally big which is cool for you. A lot of people are naturally very skinny or small so its much harder to get as big as someone who has better phsycial genetics. My brother and I are opposites. We come from the same parents except he got certain traits that I didnt. He is taller, and can build muscle mass extremely quickly. He sees almost double the gains I see on the same workout programs. I have a runners body while he has a bulkers/bodylifter body. For me to see the same gains he gets I need to take in more protein and stuff like that. Also my metabolism is insane which means its very hard for me to keep any fat or weight gain while him on the other hand will keep all of his weight gain. If your body was of different gentics you would understand why people take supplements.

jonno he probably eats more than you not really. I was illustrating how some people may need more intake depending on their metabolism mainly. I need to eat 3 bigmacs while my bro needs only one type of deal.

to each their own speaking of car racing is nos cheating? what about slicks? or what about stripping the car, or what about... you get the point to each their own, I take protein now, might take creatine in a couple of month

Just do your own thing and dont care about anyone else's biznass.

personally, its natural if I can get it in my diet, , ie protein, creatine, etc. I'm pretty sure I can't get steriods or prohormones from my diet

Mass Just do your own thing and dont care about anyone else's biznass. exactly

Whose in the Loose skin crew with me?

Whose in the Loose skin crew with me?

Lost a significant (100lbs) of weight, and now your stuck with this loose, pudgy, loose skin..... Ill tell you, if you didnt know i lost 100 lbs, you would probably think it was a sack of fat or something. Its a huge thing for me....i dont know if it is for other people who have lost weight. I hate the sag on my stomach the most. But with it also, my muscles dont nearly look defined if i didnt have it.

Take it as a sign that you are meant to be HYUUUGE.

Loose skin crew member since 2003 Once I get down to about 200lbs, I'm gonna look into getting surgery to get it cut off.

im 19 and im on my way to 50 pounds lost total, will i have loose skin

Edghill im 19 and im on my way to 50 pounds lost total, will i have loose skin maybe, its partially determined by half fast ya drop the weight. The slower you lose it, the more time the skin's elasticity has to adapt. you should already have an idea by just looking in the mirror I dropped like 10lbs a month, which didn't let the skin adapt to my smaller body

Dragon420 Loose skin crew member since 2003 Once I get down to about 200lbs, I'm gonna look into getting surgery to get it cut off. Good luck, insurance wont cover it, i have been to a plastic surgeon already...he said it wasnt worth it...but i think it was

i have dropped 15 pounds in the past 6 weeks so i dont know, i dont see any loose yet, im hoping that im young enough now that it will come back.....i guess we will just wait and see, August 6 is my 20th birthday and i want to be down 40 by then

The slower you lose it, the more time the skin's elasticity has to adapt. you should already have an idea by just looking in the mirror I dropped like 10lbs a month, which didn't let the skin adapt to my smaller body I wish i knew about this sooner..... i lost 100lbs in about 3-4 months

deznutz I wish i knew about this sooner..... i lost 100lbs in about 3-4 months DAMN how did you manage that

christophers i just take a bath in preperation H before i'm going to fuck a girl

christophers i just take a bath in preperation H before i'm going to fuck a girl

Edghill DAMN how did you manage that motivation, dedication, girls, parents... didnt see OT F&N until i lost all the weight....... No fast food No candy No pasta I was addicted to pasta....i used to eat it with noodles and butter.... but i cut a lot of food out and limited myself to at least 800 cals...

deznutz Good luck, insurance wont cover it, i have been to a plastic surgeon already...he said it wasnt worth it...but i think it was fdefinitely worth it to me too. all that extra skin just looks bad to me. I really gotta start saving up cause I want to get that and laser eye surgery too. maybe if we get enough of a crew we can get a deal

Dragon420 fdefinitely worth it to me too. all that extra skin just looks bad to me. I really gotta start saving up cause I want to get that and laser eye surgery too. maybe if we get enough of a crew we can get a deal I dont think they would give a group rate...if we all showed up wanting a tummy tuck...

when your skin is loose like that, is it also thin?

deznutz I dont think they would give a group rate...if we all showed up wanting a tummy tuck... if there's enough of ex-fatty's standing around the guys porsche/ferrari/whatever, think he'd be dumb enough to say no?

Dunken when your skin is loose like that, is it also thin? Yes, but its hard to tell between fat/skin........plus i have a distended stomach....

anybody here with lots of extra skin in single digit bf%? I was reading an interesting article about this a few weeks back, let me see if i can find it.

ok well it's not really an article but interesting anyway Dear Tom, Before I ask my question I just wanted to say thank you for all the help your Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle e-book (and the monthly newsletters) have given me with my recent weight losses. Last summer I began a fat loss program using your e-book and it worked so well I got down to 15 1/2 stones (from 19). However, this has caused me a problem: Excess abdominal skin. I didn't crash lose this weight, it came off at the rate of about 2 lbs. per week. Now I'm unsure of whether to carry on, as my abdomen has quite a lot of excess skin - I feel like I've turned into a bloody Shar-Pei! (you know, as in the dog!) Does everyone go through this? Will the skin tighten up? I was overweight for more than 12 years. Am I going to end up needing surgical skin removal? Can you offer me any advice? I'm a medical student in the UK and my colleagues seem determined to proffer surgery as the only option - Needless to say, I would like to avoid that if at all possible... Sincerely, Mike Hi Mike Thank you for your email and congratulations on your successful fat loss Regarding loose skin after large weight losses, here's what I can tell you: 1. Skin is incredibly elastic. Just look at what women go through during pregnancy. Skin has the ability to expand and contract back to normal to a remarkable degree. 2. Elasticity of skin tends to decrease with age. Wrinkling and loss of elasticity is partly the consequence of aging (genetic factors) and also a result of environmental factors such as oxidative stress, excessive sun exposure, and nutritional deficiency. The environmental parts you can fix, the genetics and age part, you cannot. Advice: Get moving and change the things you have control over... Be realistic and don't worry about those things you don't have control over. 3. How much your skin will return to its former tautness therefore, depends partly on age. The older you get, the more an extremely large weight loss can leave loose skin that will not return to normal 4. How long someone carries extra weight has a lot to do with how much the skin will become taut after the weight loss: For example, compare a 9 month pregnancy with 9 years carrying 100 excess pounds. 5. How much weight was carried has a lot to do with how much the skin will resume a tight appearance. Your skin can only be stretched so much and be expected to "snap back" one hundred percent. 6. How fast the weight was gained also has a lot to do with how much the skin will resume a tight appearance. Your skin can only be stretched so quickly and be expected to "snap back." 7. How fast weight is lost also has a lot to do with how much the skin will tighten up. Rapid weight loss doesn't allow the skin time to slowly resume to normal. (yet another reason to lose fat slowly; 1-2 pounds per week, 3 pounds at the most if you have a lot of weight to lose, and even then, only if you are measuring body fat and you're certain it's fat you're losing). 8. There are exceptions to all of the above; i.e, people who gained and then lost incredible amounts of weight quickly at age 50 or 60, and their skin returned 100% to normal. 9. There are many creams advertised as having the ability to restore the tightness of your skin. None work - at least not in a noticeable, measurable way - and especially if you have a LOT of loose skin. Don't waste your money. 10. If you're considering surgical skin removal, consult a physician for advice, because this is not a minor operation, but keep in mind that your plastic surgeon may be making his BMW payments with your abdominoplasty money. (Surgery may be recommended in situations where it's not 100% necessary). Surgery should be left as the ABSOLUTE FINAL option in extreme cases. 11. Give your skin time. Your skin will get tighter as your body fat gets lower. I've seen and heard of many cases where the skin gradually tightened up, at least partially, after a one or two year period where the weight loss was maintained and exercise continued. 12. Know your body fat percentage before even THINKING about surgery. Loose skin is one thing, but still having body fat is another. Be honest with yourself and do that by taking your body fat measurement. This can be done with skinfold calipers or a variety of other devices (calipers might not be the best option for those with large folds of loose skin. Look into impedance analysis, underwater weighing, DEXA or Bod Pod). Suppose for example, a man drops from 35% body fat all the way down to 20%. He should be congratulated, but I would tell him, "Don't bitch about loose skin, your body fat is still high. Press onward and keep getting leaner." Average body fat for men is in the mid teens (16% or so) Good body fat for men is 10-12%, and single digits is extremely lean (men shouldn't expect to look "ripped" with 100% tight skin on the abs unless they have single digit body fat, and women low teens). Except in extreme cases, you are very unlikely to see someone with loose skin who has very low body fat. It's quite remarkable how much your skin can tighten up and literally start to "cling" to your abdominal muscles once your body fat goes from "average" to "excellent." Someone with legitimate single digit body fat and a ton of loose skin is a rare sight. So... the key to getting tighter skin is to lose more body fat, up to the point where your body composition rating is BETTER than average (in the "good" to "great" category, not just "okay"). Only AFTER you reach your long term body fat percentage goal should you give thought to "excess skin removal." At that point, admittedly, there are bound to be a few isolated cases where surgery is necessary if you can't live with the amount of loose skin remaining. However, unless you are really, really lean, it's difficult to get a clear picture of what is loose skin, what is just remaining body fat and how much further the skin will tighten up when the rest of the fat is lost. http://www.fitren.com/res3ask.cfm?compid=18&qaid=163

deznutz i lost 100lbs in about 3-4 months Wow thats extremely unhealthy. If you could go back in time would you do it any differently?

deznutz Yes, but its hard to tell between fat/skin........plus i have a distended stomach.... dud ei have the same problem on my neck/chin its not fat BUT YOU CANT TELL

i dont have it bad

one of my friends has it really bad, dropped 100 lbs in about 6-8 months and now he's around 10% body fat, when he sits down the 6 pack is there but the skin just freely hangs over his shorts

Is my body just not meant to lift heavy ass weight?

Is my body just not meant to lift heavy ass weight?

when I first started lifting (a few years ago) I remember doing sets of bench with 50lbs (total). now I'm sure a lot of that was form, stabalizers, etc, but even so I doubt it would've been that much higher. Basically my point is that I have very little natural strength. I was always one of the weaker kids in highschool gym class, and I know my dad isnt very strong. Doing squats I could never lift significant amounts of weight (dont do them now because of unrelated knee/back injury). Deadlifts were better, but every once in a while I would hurt my lower back and have to take a break for a few weeks. And now just recently I hit a 5 rep max on bench, and the next day/that night my elbow starts hurting like a bitch. So my point is, I never really had much strength, and when I lift heavy I end up hurting myself. Let me assure you that I dont have horrible form or whatever. So should I even bother going heavy, or just try to be happy with going lighter?

I also have pretty small wrists/bone structure

I was one of the weakest/slowest/smallest kids in high school too. I started benching with 30lb db's. I'm still not nearly as strong as I would like to be, but I'm 50lbs heavier and lifting weight I never thought I would be able to even three years ago... moral of the story -- eat, lift, GFH so your elbow hurts, big fucking deal. You completely glossed over the fact that you hit a 5rm PR. Go easy for a couple weaks, rehab it if needed. If it happens again, figure out what is causing it. Maybe your form is good but you just moved something slightly wrong that time. If you get hurt lifting heavy, figure out when it happens. Don't go to failure EVER if that is when you get hurt. See what I'm saying? Lift heavy enough so you know you REALLY know you are giving it your all... try HST or some other progressive load routine. Maybe that will prevent injury. Bottom line - is it worse to have your elbow hurt for a week or two, or feel weak/small/unconfident/etc for your entire life?

yeah, you make some good points, and that is pobably the road im taking. however, you also brought up another good point. I have a pretty shitty metabolism/fat deposit areas. If I have some chub, I have some bitch tits. And while part of me just wants to eat everything in site and get as strong as possible, another part of me would like to be able to wear t-shirts this summer without worrying about my boobs jiggling around.

What type of lifestyle do you lead? Are you an active person?? The reason I'm asking this is a friend of mine started experiencing some wrist pain after the first couple of months lifting. Basically, what it came down to is, and I hope this doesn't sound idiotic, is that since he had a desk job, and having a relatively low activity level his muscle strength was gaining faster than his body structure causing joint and tendon pain. He remedied this by using a stress ball while at work, and doing some very basic calestenics (sp?) in his apt. Once he strengthened his base structure the pain from lifting all but went away.

And while part of me just wants to eat everything in site and get as strong as possible, another part of me would like to be able to wear t-shirts this summer without worrying about my boobs jiggling around. Not everyone can/needs to eat everything in site in order to gain. You are one of them, as am I. The ones that need to do that typically are naturally very lean and do not carry much lbm. The best idea is to figure out what your maintenance calories are, then add about 500 per day to that. Get some calipers and learn how to measure your bodyfat. It doesn't matter if it's 100% right, just that you do it the same each time you check it. Lift fairly heavy and track your progress for a few weeks. If you are getting significantly fatter, lower cals a bit and do the same thing. The important thing is keep track for a while so you know what your body needs in order to grow without excessive fat gain. *note - this is for gaining muscle, not losing fat. To lose fat, read the fat loss sticky. Do the same tracking, but lower calories until you see results. Choose what is more important to you, because you aren't going to gain muscle AND lose fat at the same time. The best you can hope for is gaining muscle without much fat gain, or losing fat while keeping as much muscle as possible.

shastaisforwinners Not everyone can/needs to eat everything in site in order to gain. You are one of them, as am I. The ones that need to do that typically are e time. The best you can hope for is gaining muscle without much fat gain, or losing fat while keeping as much muscle as possible. I know, I know...this is just another thing that complicates this all for me but yeah, I am modifying my diet now and trying to figure out how many calories I need to be taking in, etc

I know, it's a bitch. The plus is that once you do it for a few weeks, it's easy to do almost unconsciously. You start to know the nutritional content of things you normally eat, and can add up what you need in your head. Writing it down all the time is the best way to be sure, but it's a pain in the ass. edit: Put it in perspective though... you're in college. How much more shit do you do on a daily basis that you don't want to? You do it to get ahead. Working out is the same thing.... well, you do it to get head. Either way, you benefit.

see my edit for motivation

I'd work on lower weights at this time to get your body parts stronger.

Shrinkage on ephedrine??

Shrinkage on ephedrine??

Has any heard of this or experienced it? I'm stacking Lipo-6 and Vasopro, doing the 5 day cycle... M-F, Sat/Sun off and when Im on I get shriveled up like a stack of quarters... then saturday comes around and its back to normal again. WTF? is this common?

I don't understand, what's shrinking?

well, ephedrine is a vasoconstrictor, so yes it can cause that

SteveO I don't understand, what's shrinking? you know... what happens when you get out of a cold pool

MaineSucks you know... what happens when you get out of a cold pool turtling is another term.

Im currently cutting with ECY and I've noticed this as well

DCCapen adapt? I dont think it works that way, thats like saying you adapt to poison Ivy dude..

I'll post my 2 week progress on Wednesday.

pokesteve stevo... 50 pounds of muscle in 8 months? no offense but may i ask what supplements you were using? Started: 155 lbs, 2 years ago Ended: 223 lbs, recent That's 60 lbs in two years.

pokesteve he said 175 to 223 in 8-9 months in his thread... thats 48 pounds! 6 pounds of muscles added every month! wtf It can be done.

pokesteve impressive nonetheless im betting prohormone , stevo care to share your typical bulking diet? im around your starting weight of 175 and never can seem to bulk right, always too much or too little.... As far as I know, Steve eats like 7k calories/day when he bulks.

pokesteve holy shit that must be so expensive At least half is liquid form, so it's not that expensive.

Liquid?

y0gfx Liquid? Protein shakes with other ingredients in them.

there you go, 8200 btw and no, it's really not expensive. I don't eat most of the foods you guys eat, for carbs it's only oats and wheat bread. Shakes are dirt cheap, usually a weeks worth runs me half tub of whey, some powdered milk, 2 jars of natty PB, and a cannister of oatmeal, and 2 bundles of bananas. Protein sources are cheap too, mainly bulk cottage cheee and bulk turkey meatballs would be my main sources

jonno - amazing! dont recall seeing your before pics ever

he's posted it a couple times before

pokesteve i want to go on the 8 month steveO plan...... can you tell me exactly what you did and ate so i can emulate your every move please I don't have a plan, I workout what I feel like working out and I stick to a high calorie diet. It's no science.

I am pathetic

I am pathetic

17 almost 18, no job, no liscense, 100% out of shape, 250lbs, 5'11", all fat, tired and burnt out all day, can only do 3 sets of 10 with 70lbs on the bar, that is a struggle... so how many of you think that i need to join a gym?

I

you're about where i started from.. only i was even weaker

Don't get discourage. You complaining is not helping either -- instead, you should do some research ask some questions and set up a routine and better eating habits. We got lots of pros here (Christophers, the most well known, but certainly not the only one), that know alot of stuff.

Lem6687 17 almost 18, no job, no liscense, 100% out of shape, 250lbs, 5'11", all fat, tired and burnt out all day, can only do 3 sets of 10 with 70lbs on the bar, that is a struggle... so how many of you think that i need to join a gym? Just think, if you start now by the time you are 20 you will be completely changed. If you have the dedication, of course.

Grouch no just stay the way you are. it will make me look better. ass lol nah man get on a routine and eat healthier... i mean read the newb guide to fat loss... and stick to it... it'll be hard but it depends how determined and motivated you are.

props to fat people who are outside running/biking/etc to get into shape

props to fat people who are outside running/biking/etc to get into shape

seriously.....props to out of shape people who are outside running, biking, jogging, etc. i fucking hate when im with someone who crakcs a joke at them for being big or something.....i only do that kind of shit at mcdonalds when i see fat fucks hovering fries into their mouth....but not when i see people out trying hard to get into shape

those same people that are trying to get in shape are usually the people cramming their face with fries. Now the people that do have dedication and the will to lose it

tommyortom seriously.....props to out of shape people who are outside running, biking, jogging, etc. i fucking hate when im with someone who crakcs a joke at them for being big or something.....i only do that kind of shit at mcdonalds when i see fat fucks hovering fries into their mouth....but not when i see people out trying hard to get into shape I get pissed off at my friends at school who would joke at me eating salads or bringing in protein shakes for lunch, but after I started getting a lot of noticable gains, they would ask me to take them to the gym with me and shit. I'm like . I really wouldn't mind helping them out (I don't know much, but enough to get them started) except for now they'll try to eat healthy at lunch, then go home and smoke weed and eat fast food all day long, then tell me how much buffer they have gotten in the past week.

I give props to them initially, if I see them still doing it a month from now, more power to them. If I see them doing it still and they look about the same, then they're no better than the idiot cramming their face at mcdonalds.

Socrates I get pissed off at my friends at school who would joke at me eating salads or bringing in protein shakes for lunch, but after I started getting a lot of noticable gains, they would ask me to take them to the gym with me and shit. I'm like . That's like people at work, who find it unimaginable that I don't drink sugar beverages. They also wonder why I'm not fat. Uhhhh.....

D-GUy I give props to them initially, if I see them still doing it a month from now, more power to them. If I see them doing it still and they look about the same, then they're no better than the idiot cramming their face at mcdonalds. haha..theres this lady in my sub whos around 50 who isnt obese or anything..but could lose a good 30-40 pounds.....no joke....shes been doing a LIGHT walk around the neighborhood for the past 2-3 years....and i see no physical change in here at all!!!!!! maybe shes just doing it for cardio or to just get outside and look at the nature.....but she hasnt made any progress what so ever ahha

ya I have a lady running in my neighborhood I see every tuesday when I come home from the gym. She is in pretty decent shape and she stays that way. I wonder if others think in this way(noticing others changes and such). I know a bunch of people at the Y I go to probably notice.

I hate walking and running cause I know the shit people say about me when they drive by, but fuck em I figure it will all be worth it in the end.

i'm built and muscular, but i'm definitely chunky. and its not a good chunky like chunky beef stew. i'm a nice guy, and i'm friends with good people, who are usually really cool and what not. however, sometimes they'll throw fat jokes, and i'll laugh it off. but seriously, i dont like hearing them. for example, they'll see me eating a salad during school lunch. (i'm in highschool) "dude, why are you eating a salad...?!" "oh, i'm on a diet. i'm tryin to lose some weight." "HAHAAHA. YOU?! lose weight?! sorry man, but thats just too funny" "heh, yeah." or i'd be at a family gathering with all my relatives...and we'd be getting cake slices from our aunt. she'll give each person a slice of cake, but for me she'll cut it smaller and take off the frosting and say "you don't need that anyway" yeah i'm being a pansy and complaining, but it sure as heck doesn't make my day hearing/watching that crap.

btw, i've lost 8 pounds since mid feb, while seeings gains on my bench/squat/deadlift.

Atenza6i btw, i've lost 8 pounds since mid feb, while seeings gains on my bench/squat/deadlift. Keep it up

tommyortom seriously.....props to out of shape people who are outside running, biking, jogging, etc. i fucking hate when im with someone who crakcs a joke at them for being big or something.....i only do that kind of shit at mcdonalds when i see fat fucks hovering fries into their mouth....but not when i see people out trying hard to get into shape

As a fattie I've been there done that. I really think 90% of fat people who want to lose weight don't go through with it because they don't know what to expect. People think, "oh man I'll lose 50lbs in like 2-3 months no problem!" Then after week 3 when the initial loss of water weight and truth of the matter hits them they decide that they'll do it later or its "too hard". The thing most fat people forget to realize is that you did not gain those extra 20,30,150lbs over night! It happened over a long time as you gradually became heavier and most likely lazier. I failed at turning my life around atleast 20 times. This time though I changed my mindset. I decided that I wasn't going to pollute and mistreat my body. I quit smoking, got myself a good diet (no starvation for me), figured out a good lifting schedule, started going for walks and 7 almost 8 months later I am 58lbs lighter(255-198) and feeling better than ever. I go home and people stop in their tracks when they see me. Its a great feeling and I wish more people knew what it was like. I also hate the way people, parents and family especially, try and "help" their fat children or relatives. Oh stop eating that.. don't enjoy life... go outside.. do this.. do that.. NOBODY has ever given me decent advice. Everyone just spouted off the myth of the week. Don't eat carbs.. don't eat fats.. don't eat. I had to go about reading about nutrtition and I had to make a lifestyle change to get where I am. I can wait till I can start bulking and if someone had told me that in the future I would want to put on weight I would laugh at them. So umm yeah thats enough ranting for me. Go fatties GO!

Go fatties GO! thats the way it has always been for me. i lost 30 pounds my senior year, i definately needed to lose more but it felt great, then i went to college and i fucked everything up. when i was away at college the rest of my family all started doing weight watchers together and my sister and dad both lost a lot of weight, my sister lost like ~60 pounds, yet i still sat around and kept telling her atleast i can eat whatever i want. i regret my previous choices with my weight so much and i really do think that this is the time i change, i can only hope to have the same success you had.

mask of obsidian I can only hope to have the same success you had. In the end its all about how badly you want change. And for me its something I have wanted all my life. I've lived a very privaleged life. I've always gotten the material goods I wanted and I've around the world and back. The one thing money could never buy me though was discipline and self respect. Those are two things I desire and by doing this I am not only creating them but I am also creating the body I've always wanted.

I got a very unprovoked email from someone on MySpace that I think is funny

I got a very unprovoked email from someone on MySpace that I think is funny

Email one you have the average bodybuilder type of exercise modality without assessing how to properly execute a movement (you don't tell a beginer to simply do squats without first teaching form!) and only a bodybuilder works a single muscle group in one day. For most of us, who want to be in good functional strwenght or who do athletics and are more concerned about power, strenght, endurance and coordination than simply being "BIG" A good lesson in Kinesiology might help you. Or do you read? My response ou are a close minded fool. First off, I am a senior chem major with a biology minor and on the waiting list for med school (due to lack of hospital experience not education). I am not here to teach a person how to squat, in fact doing that over the internet would be damn near impossible. I am telling what is the best way to go about causing hypertrophy of the gluteus muscle group, which is what she asked. I actually consider myself a mix between a bodybuilder and powerlifter, by the way. I do not only promote one group per day once per week lifting. As you can see if you read some of my other threads, I have also talked about westside training and 3 day splits. I can guarantee my methods increase power strength and endurance. Just because I don't prescribe to your methods does not mean that my methods do not work and in the same I am not saying anyone elses methods don't work, to a point. Now when someone wants to work every muscle every day of the week, of course I am going to say something. -Michael P.S. Get off your high horse. Email two before I even responded to the first Hey sorry about the you can't read comment, but bodybuilding is not a sport! Who cares what you look like what can you do? Asia wrestling weight 110 and 105 after really cutting "to make weight not to put on some shinny skivies" 22 years lifting weights (for strength, power and muscular endurance) Hey that's longer than you have been alive. Eight marathons, six under 3 hrs, 20 min. wrestled 12 years - US national team Climbed three peaks in Peru and Bolivia over 18,0000 feet. Rock climb Yosemite Mountain Bike through northern California What can you do? Response #2 Get off your damn high horse. In the last two weeks, I have helped build a house for habitat for humanity, cleaned up my campus, worked at the animal shelter, along with finishing up my research, presenting it at a national ACS meeting and presented a paper for publication. You need to realize that physical accomplishments are not everything, I have. The fact that I have been lifting for less than 3 years probably says something about my motivation. But if you don't think that size is impressive, also note that my lifts put me over a 1200 total for the big three. Oh, and I am also pretty good at hockey. I don't know what I have said to perturb you, maybe it is just that you are a bitch looking for someone to praise you, maybe it is because you haven't been laid in a while, I don't know, but the fact is that there is so much more to life than what you have listed for your "accomplishments". -Michael Why do I keep going back? I think I need a 12 step program

BTW, here is her profile, there are some NWS pics in there for you horny bastards (Christophers I am looking in your general direction). http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus...20050427230217

maybe christophers can help up my strwenght.

holy shit. what a fucking cunt. an ugly cunt too, i mean i'd still bang her but it would be out of rage.

Grouch holy shit. what a fucking cunt. an ugly cunt too, i mean i'd still bang her but it would be out of rage. :hatefuck:

and that emo fag in the other forum is a douche too.

You play hockey? Its kinda funny that the general OT population probably has about 0.0001% hockey players but theres a number of F/N regulars who play.

Grouch holy shit. what a fucking cunt. an ugly cunt too, i mean i'd still bang her but it would be out of rage. Yes, this whole thing or should I say both things, were written because when some girl asked how to work her ass and everyone else was saying buns of steel videos and the such, I said "squat".

therealdeal You play hockey? Its kinda funny that the general OT population probably has about 0.0001% hockey players but theres a number of F/N regulars who play. I don't play regularly anymore. I played in high school and now I do alot of reffing with some playing on the side.

Grouch and that emo fag in the other forum is a douche too. Thats ok, I still have yet to convince this one girl, who has gotten through the anatomy portion of her PT book and thinks she knows everything, that the food pyramid is bullshit and that 6 meals a day does nothing that 3 proportionally larger meals wouldn't.

ACURA TL-S I don't play regularly anymore. I played in high school and now I do alot of reffing with some playing on the side. How come you don't play regularily anymore?

therealdeal How come you don't play regularily anymore? Lack of ice and time constraints. Hopefully I will have some time after I graduate in two weeks, plus they are in the process of putting in two new sheets 5 minutes from my house. Right now there is only one near Memphis.

ACURA TL-S BTW, here is her profile, there are some NWS pics in there for you horny bastards (Christophers I am looking in your general direction). http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus...20050427230217 Oh god.

dude no joke...that bish wants to devour your pen0r

what in the gayshit got up her nasty ass cooter?

"First off, I am a senior chem major with a biology minor and on the waiting list for med school (due to lack of hospital experience not education). " Not to bust on your laurels but this really has nothing to do with how much you know about lifting/diet.

Stupid bitch.

Elfling "First off, I am a senior chem major with a biology minor and on the waiting list for med school (due to lack of hospital experience not education). " Not to bust on your laurels but this really has nothing to do with how much you know about lifting/diet. shut it woman and get back to the kitchen As for acura....why the fuck are you arguing with a woman in the first place. Tell her to bleed for a week and then come back

I am telling what is the best way to go about causing hypertrophy of the gluteus muscle group, which is what she asked. You should have told the bitch that you're response was appropriate because what was asked was how to shape the gluteus (bodybuilding question) not on how to get a more functional gluteus.

what a cockly ugly broad

Bitch looks like a she-male that got smacked in the face with a 12" frying pan. She's prolly one of those new-age E-Thugs... watch your back.

I have recieved a couple of fairly good e-mails too, they really dont like us overthere acura... LOL's

I'm scared

ACURA TL-S Thats ok, I still have yet to convince this one girl, who has gotten through the anatomy portion of her PT book and thinks she knows everything, that the food pyramid is bullshit and that 6 meals a day does nothing that 3 proportionally larger meals wouldn't. I like how that one argued with the pier reviewed studies, and said that they where too old, cause they where like 8 years old...

Elfling "First off, I am a senior chem major with a biology minor and on the waiting list for med school (due to lack of hospital experience not education). inner chest

inner chest

Are there any exercises that work the inner chest more? I'm lacking in that department. Am i forgetting something? chest day flat 4x10 incline 4x10 db flys 4x10 cable crossover 4x10

STOP. There's no inner chest

Strangely, according to Arnold and his encylcopedia, there is.

Ilyusha Strangely, according to Arnold and his encylcopedia, there is. Honestly, i'm just going from what i've read in this forum repeatedly

im guessing my question won't get answered til christophers gets in here?

christophers arnolds book is good for motivation or what not but it's honestly a very poor display of knowledge of human physiology/anatomy. people take it as the word of god unfortunately. You have a point.. the exercises that he devotes to the so called inner and outer chests are just exercises that I do anyway, without trying to target either region specifically.

so my chest day routine looks fine?

yo nizzle so my chest day routine looks fine? Yes.

Damn it I did it again (cutting)...

Damn it I did it again (cutting)...

I always do this, started cutting again today seriously after 2 weeks of cheating, started the day off right, 2 eggs +1 white and 1 cup of oats, then a tuna wrap and then a 55g protein shake and a burger patty w/o bun, then... I just went off and in the last 2 hours I've eaten 2 Cinnebon cinamon buns, a frosted chocolate cupcake (very big), 3 oreos, a piece of banana bread and some other crap.... anyone else have a LOT of trouble sticking to a clean diet?

You need to learn self control say to yourself 'Will i fell good about this an hour from now?' Remember food is fuel not fun.

Really fucking weaksauce.

There's this vending machine at my work that has these Skippy Peanutbutter Snackbars. They're like pure peanut butter with rice krispies on the inside. Absolutely delicious. In front of me was my plain chicken berast-on-cardboard sandwich, some cottage cheese, a yogurt, and some reheated brown rice. I ate all my food just fine, but I was still a *little* bit hungry. You have no idea how hard it was for me to sit in front of that fucking vending machine and not get a peanut butter bar. In reality, that bar isn't too bad for my diet. But alas, I made a commitment to eat nothing but healthy, clean foods. You just have to look at what you're doing. Eating all that not-so-great tasting foods just so you can better your health. So, why go through all the trouble eating all that healthy shit if you're just going to waste any profit gained from eating healthy by binging on a bunch of junk food. It's all about self-control. Learn it.

no

You can't even make it one day? Jesus. I won't tell you how many calories are in those cinnabon things...but let's just say you really, really have to cut that shit out. Have you tried starting small (very little sugar, diet sodas only, no candy, chips, etc) instead of diving straight into an egg white and oats diet? Baby steps...sounds like you need to ween yourself off of the trash.

Wow you really suck at dieting

Alt+F4 You can't even make it one day? I think it would be more helpful to him if we told him. Cinnomin roll x 2: 1480 calories Oreo x 3: 160 calories Banana Bread x 1: 185 calories Large frosted cupcake x1: ~150 calories (or more) So that little binge costed you more than 2000 calories because you probably didn't list everything you ate. You need to seriously reevaluate why you're doing this and how important it is to you. If you're trying to lose weight, 2000 calories is probably all you should eat/drink (of clean foods) throughout an entire day. So fix your diet before you come here looking for sympathy.

i just ate half a pizza =(

You have no self controll, you can eat that shit, just not that much... My cutting diet today BOB mcdonalds

vettedude You have no self controll, you can eat that shit, just not that much... My cutting diet today BOB mcdonalds this coming from someone at what weight and body fat? You simply don't eat that shit when you're cutting. Useless calories, and see the post on 'Insulin', you might learn something.

SteveO this coming from someone at what weight and body fat? You simply don't eat that shit when you're cutting. Useless calories, and see the post on 'Insulin', you might learn something. well, i am still loosing weight eating whatever the fuck i want, until this stops, i will continue to do it.

I wish I could get good results fucking around and eating whatever. When I put time and effort in something I want good results fast, so I try not to cheat. I value my time too much. i'd rather spend more time eating and getting stronger than feeling lethargic cutting.

seriously you suck at dedication and fitness

I find it easy to eat clean. I've been eating almost the same stuff everyday and I'm not getting bored at all. If I do have a cheat day I'm going to work it off to limit its effects

Soularis I find it easy to eat clean. I've been eating almost the same stuff everyday and I'm not getting bored at all. If I do have a cheat day I'm going to work it off to limit its effects I just love eating a ton of food. My cheat day is eating a ton of clean food. fuck variety!

I don't think cutting is that bad if you eat the right things. I don't really get that hungry even when I was cutting since I was still eating like 6x a day. You just have no motivation and a weak sense of self control.

D-GUy I don't think cutting is that bad if you eat the right things. I don't really get that hungry even when I was cutting since I was still eating like 6x a day. You just have no motivation and a weak sense of self control. whats your body fat and are you taking any supplements? I think about food a lot more nowadays then I used too.

I just went off and in the last 2 hours I've eaten 2 Cinnebon cinamon buns, a frosted chocolate cupcake (very big), 3 oreos, a piece of banana bread and some other crap.... anyone else have a LOT of trouble sticking to a clean diet? well, this is why moderation is so important to most people. i mean, if you are strong enough to stay clean 100% on your diet, then sure, nothing will ever distract you.. but if you are just like the rest of us, you have to slowly change your diet, gradually.. when you cut all the junk dramatically, in your head, you are depriving, and as a consequence, you will binge on junks the very next second comes by... the worse thing is that the more you eat junk, the more you crave them so its just a vicious cycle you go through... instead of thinking you are dieting(restricting), think that you are actually eating better food and enjoying them.. i know it sounds hard, but the first 3-4 days are the hardest.. but i promise that after that, you won't even miss the junk.. it takes about 3-4 days for your body to completely get rid of sugar & junks.. good luck.

AznRyda whats your body fat and are you taking any supplements? I think about food a lot more nowadays then I used too. No clue what my bf%, but my cutting calories was around 1800(11x165). Mainly ate oatmeal, chicken breasts, tuna, wheat bread, veges, and took my whey protein after working out. You just have to get used to eating less, it's all in your head.

D-GUy No clue what my bf%, but my cutting calories was around 1800(11x165). Mainly ate oatmeal, chicken breasts, tuna, wheat bread, veges, and took my whey protein after working out. You just have to get used to eating less, it's all in your head. That's the fucking truth. Just look at that junk food in front of you and ask yourself - am I really hungry? Is this really worth it? Most the time I find myself about to eat some junk food I find that I'm really not hungry at all. It's just a mental thing. I feel like I should always be eating.

xpinchx That's the fucking truth. Just look at that junk food in front of you and ask yourself - am I really hungry? Is this really worth it? Most the time I find myself about to eat some junk food I find that I'm really not hungry at all. It's just a mental thing. I feel like I should always be eating. I think that only works up to a certain point. I think its fairly easy/straightforward going to average body fat levels.

well I at too clean and not enough cals so I lost alot of my bulking gains.

AznRyda I think that only works up to a certain point. I think its fairly easy/straightforward going to average body fat levels. Yeah. My mom jumped on the Atkins bandwagon and she lost something ridiculous like 20 lbs in 3-4 weeks and she looked great. But after that she didn't lose any weight at all so she got discouraged and stopped the diet. She blew back up like a baloon. I wish people would just eat healthy.

I have been cutting for about 12 weeks now and have never had problems like that. Some people call my diet shitty but it's incredibly clean compared to yours. I think you need to practice some self control. without that, you may as well get your stomach stapled, it'd be the only way for you to limit your caloric intake and still eat as much as you want/could.

Damn it I did it again (cutting)...

Job change: may not have the opp. to go to a gym now...

Job change: may not have the opp. to go to a gym now...

I go to the gym to maintain my weight... not to get muscular, but just not to get fat. I am considering cancelling going to the gym all together because I do not think I will have time and/or opportunity to go to the gym once I start. Do you feel that I will stay in shape as much if I do workout videos? For instance, I like the Comcast On Demand videos a lot. I am wondering if going TO a gym will make a difference or if I can stay in just as much shape doing videos. Thanks

What do you currently do when you go the gym?

If you just go to "not be fat", doing bodyweight training and cardio at home with a good diet would probably be sufficient. Not as good as going to the gym though.

Just buy a stairstepper or a treadmill for your house/apartment.

If general fitness and weight management are your interests, there is plenty of shit you can do outside of a gym. Cardio stuff is obvious (walk, jog, bike or get an elliptical, treadmill, etc...). For strength training, look for a book called "The Naked Warrior" by Pavel Tsatsouline... strength training concepts, routines, and exercises using bodyweight and a minimal amount of equipment.

There is *always* time to go to the gym, imo. I've never stopped going, not even during my working two jobs, 14 hours a day phase that lasted a year. If you really want to, you'll find the time somehow..and of course there's the other options people have put forth about in-home stuff.

I agree, but I am also thinking that it would be extra nice to save myself the money as well, because I am SEVERELY lacking in funds... to answer NickStam, I use the treadmill/stairmaster/some yellow cardio machine for a little while, and then I use the machine weights for abs, legs and arms... I dont do a whole hell of a lot at the gym, i spend a max. of about 45 mins there... thats why Im thinking it may be an equally as effective/cheaper way to keep myself in shape ... but im not really sure, so thats why Im asking you guys

If you shop, you can probably find used weights somewhere for even cheaper. And running/walking outside is free

freeskiwp yeah, what he said.

jonno *chuckles* It's cool, I'd rather be thought a guy half the time here anyways I just do find it funny because to me, Elfling is not a very manly name.

Elfling Then you're probably right You can get a decent dumbbell set at Modell's or whatever for >200 bucks. If you shop, you can probably find used weights somewhere for even cheaper. And running/walking outside is free sounds good... at least I know if I DO make the decision to drop the gym and just do videos and stuff on my own, it wont make a huge difference from what I do at the gym

spending money on a gym, might be more motivation for you to go...

im sorry elfling .im retarded

MikeTheVike1 spending money on a gym, might be more motivation for you to go... thats what I thought, and it worked for about 6 mos, but since the payment for the gym isnt making a HUGE dent in my budget, Ive realized that I just kinda "figure" my way out of the payment now.... I consider it less out of my paycheck now rather than less out of my take-home, if that makes any sense... I I guess Im just looking for words of encouragement as far as dropping the gym and doing it on my own... I almost have my mind made up, but Im looking for someone to tell me its a GREAT idea or HORRIBLE idea, based on the facts ive given

Pushups, Hindu squats, upsidedown pushups, there is always an option.

I don't know about everyone else, but paying for a gym motivates me to go. I spend xx amount of dollars a month for equipment that I'd better be using. If I didn't spend a dime, I'd probably be sitting home doing pushups and situps thinking I'd get massive. But the fact that I pay motivates me. I think if you can, just try to continue going to a gym w/ a (paid?) membership so that you'd have a reason to go out. Plus, while you're there you get to have a certain mentality that you might not be able to achieve at home. If you're not looking at that route, I think that motivation would be key in terms of working out several times a week. So maybe get a buddy to run with you or something...I don't know. I'm kind of rambling.

I think allot of it depends on how you get motivated. About 3 years ago I prepaid a gym membership and could never get motivated to go. As a result I never really made any progress and fatened up. I also let the membership lapse after it expired. I finally decided to do something about being out of shape and bought a bench/squat rack and dug out my old free weights. I started working out again on April 1st and have been hugely motivated so far. I'm doing the dreaded cardio by taking my boxer on bikerides 3-4 times a week and lifting 3 nights a week. I've dropped 18 pounds (mostly water i'm sure) so far and I swear I feel stronger. I screwed up and dropped a grip on my gym membership and never used it. I spent $200 on a decent home bench and use it all the time. I even look forward to using it. Food for thought anyway.

Van Damme isnt even that big, he's ripped and fit. Even with 35 lbs you could but it will take a year or 2. Shut up man, dont be stupid. You know Ryan Reylonds gained 20 lbs of muscle in 6 months with diet and excessive working out? now what he looks like. Like i said, things takes time you piece of shit.

Like i said, things takes time you piece of shit. you know its stupid to read about how celebs gained X amount of weight in X months and thinking you can do the exact same thing right?

DCCapen Hey dont destroy his motivation, that wil happen naturally when he quits after a week because he is no closer to being Van Damne too true... applies to like 90% of the people I know.

Damn.. You beat me to posting that thread

DCCapen Jean Claude Van Damne with 20s, HAHAHA even 35s, HA no you read that wrong. 20's for JCVD but 35's for the arnold look

wow...just...wow...

i'm sorry but everyone in OT:MAIN is misinformed about exercise and muscle building...not that i'm good or anything...but better then those peeps.

i have a question. why do they make 45 lb dumbbells when arnold only needs 35s?

nonplus i have a question. why do they make 45 lb dumbbells when arnold only needs 35s? the 45s are for Ronnie Coleman

Where can I get some energy cookies? Might have to add energy cookies and redbull to my pre workout meal, well when I really blast those biceps! Wooooo what a workout. And since I walk I am just going to stop working my legs.

Gutrat i'm sorry but everyone in life is misinformed about exercise and muscle building...not that i'm good or anything...but better then those peeps. . a few gems from tony: "Who said that? yeah i do and i dont think im plannin to work out my legs cuz im already running." "whats the site to F&N? and why should i check it b4 bodybuilding? The body im probably going for is Van Damme, a mix of perfection. Fit and Ripped without looking so big, like one of those 300 lbs bench pressers." ahahaha as I read on it just gets more and more hilarious

arnold and jean claude built their physiques by drinking a protein shake once a week and lifting 20 pounds per arm for three years...i mean nothing happens for 2 years and 364 days, but on that last day you become fucking BROLY!!

Working out in the morning > workout out in the afternoon

Working out in the morning > workout out in the afternoon

With nice weather finally starting to show up here, the last thing I want to do is waste my afternoon ion teh gym, so recently I started going to the gym before work at 6:30am and wow, what a difference. I've found I feel a lot better and have lots of energy throughout the day. And I have the afternoon/evenings to enjoy the weather.

Dragon With nice weather finally starting to show up here, the last thing I want to do is waste my afternoon ion teh gym, so recently I started going to the gym before work at 6:30am and wow, what a difference. I've found I feel a lot better and have lots of energy throughout the day. And I have the afternoon/evenings to enjoy the weather. I might try working out a little earlier

I used to go workout at 5am in the morning before work. It was great getting it over with. But I found I am less likely to push myself in the morning. In the afternoon I can push myself to failure, but in the morning I find my self giving up and not getting those extra reps.

Im going to go eat and take my CEE then workout peace out punk ass bitches

I like waking up, dicking around for a few hours, then going to the gym. But when I start working, I don't think I'll have that luxury.

hells no. no way. id die.

I prefer working out about 8 at night on mon/wed then on friday i work out about 3ish. (due to the gym shutting early) but on sundays (when i do legs) i'll go down about 2 and work out. I don't think i could work out in the morning.

I dont see how anyone could ever workout in the morning, i am so damn tight, How the hell do you ever get loose? And I also have a bsolutely no motivation in the mornings. UGH

i used to work out at 5am, 3 times a week during the swim season. man that was a pain in the ass. everyone was pretty groggy, but if you got a good nights rest u were fine.

Heavy lifting early in the morning = teh lose..... cardio is another story

I find my motivation in the great weather I can enjoy afterwork now that I'm not going to the gym. As for having energy, caffeine and gatorade work wonders

Dragon I find my motivation in the great weather I can enjoy afterwork now that I'm not going to the gym. As for having energy, caffeine and gatorade work wonders Cool. When we have the TO meet, we'll drag everyone into the gym in the morning.

Puppet Master when i join the gym again i'll be a morning whore too. not mega early but like 7am I like going after 8:30am usually because all the working stiffs are still there before that.

timberwolf Cool. When we have the TO meet, we'll drag everyone into the gym in the morning. on a weekend? not bloody fucking likely

timberwolf I like going after 8:30am usually because all the working stiffs are still there before that. some of us have to work to pay for things like gym memberships. besides, its the punks without jobs hanging around the gym all day that cause most of the probs!

I have noticed when i work out in the morning, i am always tired and yawning...in the afternoon i am so pumped its ridiculous, but with classes, i HAVE to work out in the mornin'

Dragon on a weekend? not bloody fucking likely On the weekends I usually get to bed at 4 or 4:30 because of the bar. I can usually still go in at 8:30 or 9 am though of course I have to crash for 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

Leo95SE some of us have to work to pay for things like gym memberships. That's what gf's are for. If she likes the way you look... she should pay for it.

deznutz I have noticed when i work out in the morning, i am always tired and yawning...in the afternoon i am so pumped its ridiculous If I don't work out at night I get so restless and my body aches for not moving weight. timberwolf That's what gf's are for. If she likes the way you look... she should pay for it.

I love lifting in the morning, but there's no way i'm getting out of bed at 6 to go to the gym. I hvae a hard enough time getting up at 7:30.

Puppet Master when i join the gym again i'll be a morning whore too. not mega early but like 7am Get yourself down balance Fuck going that early. i normally get down there about 7:30 at night on mon/wed.

i prefer night when its not as busy

Motivation? Whats on your mind?

Motivation? Whats on your mind?

So sometimes youre bench pressing, some curls or some ab work or something of the like and you're near failure but not finished with your set. What's on your mind? What do you guys think of to keep you motivated and pushing yourself to squeeze out those last few reps?

i think, you're not gonna be sore tomorrow if you dont push out atleast 2 more reps YOU FUCKING PUSSY

and then i think about slashing, stabbing, beating and choking my ex and i push out 3 more reps

that if u dont squeeze em out ur fucked like that one video that was posted on here lol but mainly because i dont want to be a pussy and know i am capable of more

"do you ever want to be big?"

i think of myself and where i want to be. i only lift for myself, my only motivation is myself

GFH

i think all of those ppl that quitted and how fat i will be if i dont finish!

quitted. what does that mean?

AmCo i think all of those ppl that quitted and how fat i will be if i dont finish! less lifting, more mastering basic english

I think of all the people whove pissed me off in life, its so much anymore, anytime I want to be pissed off and have stupid energy I can go into this mindset of wanting to kill someone, and can throw down another 3 or 4 reps

I usually say "I'm building a Body-for-Life". No but seriously, the threat of thinking I'm a pussy usually helps me get the last few reps up, and helps get through the last few minutes of cardio if I need extra help.

unrealistic goal for self : purevl

i think of lou ferrigno doing presses shouting 'ahnold, ahnold, ahnold,' then i power through my final 2 reps thinking of ed corney doing finishing up his squats.

i think, im gonna pound the crap out of my girl tonite, and im gonna make her proud.

Nothing.

big hockey hits ive done/seen

I really don't think of anything, I'll just push my body till it can physically not go anymore.

Mike McDermott I think about everyone who has ever doubted me. I think of all of the people who called me too fat, too slow, too short, too white, or just plain not good enough. And I think about how they were WRONG. aww

Mike McDermott I get emo when I think about my fat days. im emo all the time

~stangzorized~ I really don't think of anything, I'll just push my body till it can physically not go anymore. .

Mike McDermott That's because you are fat all the time. i hate you dude.

im not gonna lie, im usually thinkin of a hot chick, teh ladeez are my motivation

Sometimes I just look at my sessie body in the mirror because I do most of my lfits facing a mirror (mirrors all around our football weight room)

yeah its weird but... i picture the black dude from the american ninja movies standing next to me and shouting, "push that weight bitch" don't know why.

Motivation? Whats on your mind?

went up to 80's

went up to 80's

Increased my weight on my DB press to 80's. Love getting stronger.

nice work man sitting, or incline?

flat bench

i've never done those on a flat bench, i prefer the bar i usually only do them inclined since the bar kills my shoulders with that range of motion

my incline db press is at 65's since it hurts my shoulders

i just bumped my flat bench to 225 last night, ill have to try the db's next time to see how that works

i gotta try the bench for my max this week or next

bb i mean

Gamblor Increased my weight on my DB press to 80's. Love getting stronger. I know the feeling. How many reps? I can do about 5 with 85's.

with my shoulder probs i cant max out, don't want to risk another surgery for the sake of seeing how much i can do

Mugwump I know the feeling. How many reps? I can do about 5 with 85's. i did 65x8 70x8 75x8 75x8 80x7

Gamblor i did 65x8 70x8 75x8 75x8 80x7 Impressive. I remember watching some guy do 50 lb DB shoulder presses and thinking to myself that I'd never get that far. And here I am doing 65 lb presses. <--- still a lightweight but whatever

i miss working out stupid cold my bench has hit a wall though

congrats, i can only get about 3 reps on the 80s on a good day

what are the reasons for doing flatbench db's compared to a bar? i guess it works the smaller stability muscles but other than that what does it do?

cootercritter what are the reasons for doing flatbench db's compared to a bar? i guess it works the smaller stability muscles but other than that what does it do? You answered your own question.

iwishiwascool You answered your own question. .

i just find it more comfortable doing the db rather than the bar

NoXeN i miss working out stupid cold my bench has hit a wall though I hit a plateau a month or so ago. Try what I call "shock therapy," or overtraining your muscles for one week or so. An example of one of my shock therapies. Shock Therapy, Day 1: chest + tricep Barbell Chest Press 10 5 5 5 20 Barbell Tricep Press 10 5 5 5 20 Barbell Incline Press 10 5 5 5 20 Barbell Overhead Tricep Extension 10 5 5 5 20 Cable Fly 10 5 5 5 20 Shock Therapy, Day 2: chest + tricep Dumbbell Chest Press 10 5 5 5 20 Dumbbell Tricep Extension 10 5 5 5 20 Dumbbell Incline Press 10 5 5 5 20 Dumbbell Overhead Tricep Extension 10 5 5 5 20 Cable Fly 10 5 5 5 20 That's doing the same muscle group two days in a row. You want to "break" your muscles, but you don't want to injure them.

Gamblor Increased my weight on my DB press to 80's. Love getting stronger. damn you you are beating me by 5 lbs. i did 75 x 8 last time so tomrow when i do chest i am going to go for the 80's hopefully!!

Gamblor i just find it more comfortable doing the db rather than the bar db's give me a greeater range of motion.. i cant go down all the way with the bar because it bothers my shoulder so i like to use db's also

baseball17c damn you you are beating me by 5 lbs. i did 75 x 8 last time so tomrow when i do chest i am going to go for the 80's hopefully!! DO IT!!!

how long yuo been lifting? just curious

I have been on and off throughout college, i would work out for 2 months, then stop for 2, then go for 2 then stop for 2. I didn't really straighten my shit out until january when i found this F&N and it gave me motivation. I have been going strong since January 1st.

went up to 80's

Neck strains while working out... :wtc:

Neck strains while working out... :wtc:

So yesterdya and today, I went to work out, but soon into it my neck feels really strained (with pain) and I get a little lightheaded, so I stop when this happens. Yesterday I was doing leg extensions and was ing when it happened. And today, I was doing bench and it happened again. yesterday was 10x worse though, I was buckled over holding my neck in pain for a good while. Today I recognized it and stopped before that happened. Also, lately, my neck has been pretty tense and I've been popping it more than I probably should. I quit soccer in December and just started getting back into shape recently. Anyone know what the issue might be?

I think you answered your own question: it's probably a strain. I had this problem -- a while back -- whenever I lifted anything it would strain my neck, and give me an instant headache.

were you looking at yourself in the mirror while lifting?

Gutrat I think you answered your own question: it's probably a strain. I had this problem -- a while back -- whenever I lifted anything it would strain my neck, and give me an instant headache. I'm hoping so. This sudden motivation isn't getting used! superbri007 doing anything differently, taking any supplements, do you feel you have high blood pressure? Nope, nope, and nope. Odd thing is, it's fine when I do pushups and whatnot, it's just on apparatus, form what I've experienced. I'll wait it out and just do lots and lots of pushups. call me mick were you looking at yourself in the mirror while lifting? Nope.

I had this problem when I was using machines, then I switched to free weights and I was fine for the most part. Mostly happend when I couldn't get a weight up and resorted to poor form to get it there.

i do neck rolls before i do any benching or deadlifting. you just do that exercise they teach you when you are 5, trying to touch your ear to your shoulder, stretching your neck back and foward a few times and it will loosen it up. When i did get strained, moving my neck around slowly did ease the pain and did help me recover quicker than when i just left it alone

Need some exercise help! Wanna get into a bikini quickly...

Please give me advice on some good exercises to do. I also have changed my eating habits. I only eat fruit in the morning and fresh veggies for lunch, then not too big of portions of regular dinner. thanks for the help! Pics of exercises also helpful (I always feel like I dont know what Im doing)

newb thread in archives stickies

are you the same faithless with the pieced boobs? Cause you sure as shit look fine to me

Faithless Pics of exercises also helpful (I always feel like I dont know what Im doing) Pics of you to fully evaluate the situation would be helpful.

dread Pics of you to fully evaluate the situation would be helpful. it's funny cause its true

for pics of exercises check out http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/slide...id=16&subId=37 and http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html as for excercises, check the stickies at the top of the page and in the archives. A good combo of compund exercises and a proper diet (calories ~Body weighth x 12 to start and adjust from there) will be you best bet to losing fat and minimizing muscle loss, though it may take some time.

PurEvl are you the same faithless with the pieced boobs? Cause you sure as shit look fine to me What he said.

hey faith Last time i saw pics of you, you were in a bikini... so I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly improvement-wise. I'm gonna guess abs though, since that's what most women fuss over when it comes to bikinis. I am currently doing these exercises for my belly and it is shrinking fast: edit: otherwise, I'm doing a ton of various exercises, based on what muscle group I'm working for that day, and I do Cardio (elliptical or swimming) 3x a week.

Perplexed None of those exercises are making your belly shrink. no, but the other exercises she does, bench, dip, etc, do help. and once it has shrunk, she'll have abs

Perplexed None of those exercises are making your belly shrink. that's what you think. they are tightening my abs, which were previously quite stretched out from 3 pregnancies.

eat protein

PurEvl Cause you sure as shit look fine to me

Also there is no quick fix it takes time and motivation so if you go out and expect to be super thin in a week quit now otherwise do it and stick with it so that your body stays the way you want it

are you saying the bikini you wore from last year no longer fits? You were doing good on your own with working out. What's going on now?

pics pls

so like, wheres the pics /OT

Girl_Next_Door are you saying the bikini you wore from last year no longer fits? You were doing good on your own with working out. What's going on now? it does, but I wasnt really comfortable in it last year either.
