Creatine + Clen

Creatine + Clen

During the ECY stack I had no concerns with [testing my rats with] CEE. Now that Ive moved [my rats] on to slightly more potent agents, I would rather not risk dehydration or the other assumed risks in the combo. Is is safe or should I hold out on [feeding my rats] the CEE till after the cycle? ib4flames.

i'm no pro, but dont creatine and clen do opposite things? i thought creatine helped retain water, and clen helped get rid of it?

not that this has to do with your question but i find this story of clen very alarming and interesting. Ack what a nightmare. 1 gram Clenbuterol was obtained, later it was measured and dissolved into water to make the proper amount ratio per ml. But looky here: Some clenbuterol, what seemed to be very little stayed on the tool which was used to move the clenbuterol from one container to another. Hey there (I thought in stuper), why dont I taste the remain and see what happens. (Can you think of something more ingeniues?--looking back, it was one of my most stupid and dangerous decisions of my life) Apparently an amount of approximately 5 - 8 miligram of clenbuterol was sublingually ingested, possibly more. (normal dose is at the microgram area), for those who dont know Clenbuterol is active at even 100 mcg. with the ~5000-8000 mcg that was ingested, some 50-80 times stronger the active dose, some unwanted effects might occur if you plan to live a healthy life, dont mistake where I have. T+30: Strange feeling, as if consciousness had changed, but not similiar to anything I ever felt. T+1h: Feeling somewhat better than normal (if only I would know what was ahead of me....) Is this clenbuterol i thought? T+2h: Heart rate is higher, but not alarming. T+3h: Eyes are open wide, and face is feeling stretched, something is building up, and fast. T+4h: Eyeballs seem to receive some greenish color besides the normal white... and quite amount of axienty had built up, dizzyness and nausea, but somewhat consciousness enhancement, certainly not a good time. T+5h: feeling quite ill, heart begins to speed up, and for the next 24 hours the heart rate stays at a steady alarming 125-135 beats per minute (WHILE LYING DOWN WITH HEAD ON PILLOW), i could hear my heart with my ear as the vains in my head and the entire body are all swallen up and beating, I can feel the blood pumping intensively, and I feel as I am ready to explode. My girlfriend urges me to get an ambulance, but I disagree, hoping its going to be fine and reassuring her i'm 'okayyyy.' My entire body was dancing to the beats of my heart; and it was the worst tune you could ever imagine. T+6h: From here on after for the next 18 hours, intense pressure in my head and limbs had built up, eyes got more wide open, and skin more stretched. T+12h: It feels as if my heart cant take it anymore as i feel it loosens in some fraile way, and begins to irregularly beat, which is extremely uncomfortable, and quite dangerous. T+13h: I get dehydrated rather easily, and my tempeature is 38 degrees celceus. T+15h: for the past hour the tempeature has risen +1 degree. I am now considering the ambulance theory (in my head), as I feel I cant take much more of this. T+16h: The pressure in the head is unbearable and keeps on increasing, the pain arises as if the skull pressures the brain and there is a psychological feeling as if brain fluid is frying the brain, from the temperature T+17h: A cold shower really helped ... ALOT. T+19h: Another shower helped. T+20h: I'm quite tired and exhusted, but in agonizing head pain fearing taking any sedatives since i dont know what interacts with this and how; i take 750mg Paracetamol. T+21h: Feeling a bit better, but still -- headache is anguishing, I am utterly exhusted and afraid to fall asleep, although possibly, i can. T+24h: Heart rate down to 120 per minute, and tempeature had decreased by two degrees the past two hours, a nice opportunity to get some sleep T+32h: Woke up.... (Thank God, I'm alive!) heart rate is still at a steady 120 beats per minute while lying down #!$#!$#!$!% T+42h: heart rate down to a steady 105 beats per minute t+70h: 65 beats per minute, lying down. For the following week, intense vain, skin, and eye pain was felt, besides the utter exhustion and the sharp pain in the center of the head. Thank God, For He saved me from my stupidity That only my faith kept me going, thougout this living nightmare. There were many side effects during the experience, of pseudohallucenogenic nature: closed and open eye visual effects, very hard stimulation; food was tasteless and meaningless, and would result in vomiting; nothing could be drank besides water, or heartburn would occur, and it did, from drinking Cola, alone. Increased sweating, and increased resperation, hard amphetamiine-like jitterness which lasted throughout the entire horryfing experience, highly-extremely increased metabolic rate, tempeature changes, general change in consciousness, ear popping, and some more things. Overall, This was my first experience with this pseudosteroidical substance, which i didnt take seriously, and i paid the price, and i'm lucky i'm alive to report it. Dont be stupid. If you cant measure something properly, and or not sure of its potency - DO NOT DO IT: as tempting or curiousing as it may be, you might not be as lucky as I was. What a nightmare Thank God its over. for your rats sake ;x

Dunken not that this has to do with your question but i find this story of clen very alarming and interesting. for your rats sake ;x wow i bet your buddy was ripped after that

My rats take it in 20mcg tab form. Not much risk of overdose there. They are at 80mcg today. While in the most general sense they would appear to have opposing impacts, but on a cellular level they have little to do with eachother. My rats are drinking a 1.5-2 gallons of water per day so I think most of the risk is mitigated, but I want to be sure.

IMHO i think that you wont look as good as if you did creatine for like 4 weeks and then ran your clen because w/ clen you are trying to lose bf and look shredded and depending on how you respond to creatine you might have water retention leaving you slightly bloated. cliffsne makes you bigger, the other makes you smaller, so run the big then the small

supposedly that is the advantage of CEE, it eliminates the hydrogen thereby eliminating the water retention. The use would be to retain as much muscle while maintaining a caloric deficit stacked with a potent metabolic enhancer.

iwishiwascool supposedly that is the advantage of CEE, it eliminates the hydrogen thereby eliminating the water retention. The use would be to retain as much muscle while maintaining a caloric deficit stacked with a potent metabolic enhancer. huh i havent done the research on CEE (haha but bought it anyway) well then i guess go for it?

Dunken not that this has to do with your question but i find this story of clen very alarming and interesting. for your rats sake ;x yea that guy was a dope i read that post on another board from him

gsteclipse97 yea that guy was a dope i read that post on another board from him yeah, he admits being an idiot, which i credit him for. but to me, just making that little of a mistake such as, mis measuring, etc and getting thoes sides? its just not worth it to fuck around with in my opinion.

the caffeine is what dehydrates you, not the ephedrine or clen

Dunken yeah, he admits being an idiot, which i credit him for. but to me, just making that little of a mistake such as, mis measuring, etc and getting thoes sides? its just not worth it to fuck around with in my opinion. if you buy the liquid pre diluted instead of makin it yourself then you should have nothing to worry about unless you are a real dope who cant measure correctly. i dont see how anyone could screw it up if you took 10 seconds to measure it and double check

I bought 500g of CEE from bulknutrition today.

How much potassium and taurine are your rats taking?

AznRyda How much potassium and taurine are your rats taking? 5g taurine, just banannas for cramps when I feel them. When I can tell the rats feel them.

i need to supp with magnesium to get rid of the cramps

The first few days were crazy. It wasnt the big muscles... just the lil ones. Id be sitting still for a while and my entire back would cramp up. Or my hands or toes.... ect. I was fine today.

Can drinking water kill you?

Can drinking water kill you?

This was in the NYT today (link - but probably won't work for you). I think it's pretty interesting, and it's surprising this is the first documentation of this. Cliffs: Slow people drink too much water during long races. That drops their sodium concentration in their blood, which can potentially lead to death. April 14, 2005 Study Cautions Runners to Limit Their Water Intake By GINA KOLATA fter years of telling athletes to drink as much liquid as possible to avoid dehydration, some doctors are now saying that drinking too much during intense exercise poses a far greater health risk. An increasing number of athletes - marathon runners, triathletes and even hikers in the Grand Canyon - are severely diluting their blood by drinking too much water or too many sports drinks, with some falling gravely ill and even dying, the doctors say. New research on runners in the Boston Marathon, published today in The New England Journal of Medicine, confirms the problem and shows how serious it is. The research involved 488 runners in the 2002 marathon. The runners gave blood samples before and after the race. While most were fine, 13 percent of them - or 62 - drank so much that they had hyponatremia, or abnormally low blood sodium levels. Three had levels so low that they were in danger of dying. The runners who developed the problem tended to be slower, taking more than four hours to finish the course. That gave them plenty of time to drink copious amounts of liquid. And drink they did, an average of three liters, or about 13 cups of water or of a sports drink, so much that they actually gained weight during the race. The risks to athletes from drinking too much liquid have worried doctors and race directors for several years. As more slow runners entered long races, doctors began seeing athletes stumbling into medical tents, nauseated, groggy, barely coherent and with their blood severely diluted. Some died on the spot. In 2003, U.S.A. Track & Field, the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking, changed its guidelines to warn against the practice. Marathon doctors say the new study offers the first documentation of the problem. "Before this study, we suspected there was a problem," said Dr. Marvin Adner, the medical director of the Boston Marathon, which is next Monday. "But this proves it." Hyponatremia is entirely preventable, Dr. Adner and others said. During intense exercise the kidneys cannot excrete excess water. As people keep drinking, the extra water moves into their cells, including brain cells. The engorged brain cells, with no room to expand, press against the skull and can compress the brain stem, which controls vital functions like breathing. The result can be fatal. But the marathon runners were simply following what has long been the conventional advice given to athletes: Avoid dehydration at all costs. "Drink ahead of your thirst," was the mantra. Doctors and sports drink companies "made dehydration a medical illness that was to be feared," said Dr. Tim Noakes, a hyponatremia expert at the University of Cape Town. "Everyone becomes dehydrated when they race," Dr. Noakes said. "But I have not found one death in an athlete from dehydration in a competitive race in the whole history of running. Not one. Not even a case of illness." On the other hand, he said, he knows of people who have sickened and died from drinking too much. Hyponatremia can be treated, Dr. Noakes said. A small volume of a highly concentrated salt solution is given intravenously and can save a patient's life by pulling water out of swollen brain cells. But, he said, doctors and emergency workers often assume that the problem is dehydration and give intravenous fluids, sometimes killing the patient. He and others advise testing the salt concentration of the athlete's blood before treatment. For their part, runners can estimate how much they should drink by weighing themselves before and after long training runs to see how much they lose - and thus how much water they should replace. But they can also follow what Dr. Paul D. Thompson calls "a rough rule of thumb." Dr. Thompson, a cardiologist at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and a marathon runner, advises runners to drink while they are moving. "If you stop and drink a couple of cups, you are overdoing it," he said. Dr. Adner said athletes also should be careful after a race. "Don't start chugging down water," he said. Instead, he advised runners to wait until they began to urinate, a sign the body is no longer retaining water. The paper's lead author, Dr. Christopher S. D. Almond, of Children's Hospital, said he first heard of hyponatremia in 2001 when a cyclist drank so much on a ride from New York to Boston that she had a seizure. She eventually recovered. Dr. Almond and his colleagues decided to investigate how prevalent hyponatremia really was. Until recently, the condition was all but unheard of because endurance events like marathons and triathlons were populated almost entirely by fast athletes who did not have time to drink too much. "Elite athletes are not drinking much, and they never have," Dr. Noakes said. The lead female marathon runner in the Athens Olympics, running in 97-degree heat drank just 30 seconds of the entire race. In the 2002 Boston Marathon, said Dr. Arthur Siegel, of the Boston Marathon's medical team and the chief of internal medicine at Harvard's McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., the hyponatremia problem "hit us like a cannon shot" in 2002. That year, a 28-year-old woman reached Heartbreak Hill, at Mile 20, after five hours of running and drinking sports drinks. She struggled to the top. Feeling terrible and assuming she was dehydrated, she chugged 16 ounces of the liquid. "She collapsed within minutes," Dr. Siegel said. She was later declared brain dead. Her blood sodium level was dangerously low, at 113 micromoles per liter of blood. (Hyponatremia starts at sodium levels below 135 micromoles, when brain swelling can cause confusion and grogginess. Levels below 120 can be fatal.) No one has died since in the Boston Marathon, but there have been near misses there, with 7 cases of hyponatremia in 2003 and 11 last year, and deaths elsewhere, Dr. Siegel said. He added that those were just the cases among runners who came to medical tents seeking help. In a letter, also in the journal, doctors describe 14 runners in the 2003 London Marathon with hyponatremia who waited more than four hours on average before going to a hospital. Some were lucid after the race, but none remembered completing it. That sort of delay worries Dr. Siegel. "The bottom line is, it's a very prevalent problem out there, and crossing the edge from being dazed and confused to having a seizure is very tricky and can happen very, very fast," he said. Boston Marathon directors want to educate runners not to drink so much, Dr. Siegel said. They also suggest that runners write their weights on their bibs at the start of the race. If they feel ill, they could be weighed again. Anyone who gains weight almost certainly has hyponatremia. "Instead of waiting until they collapse and then testing their sodium, maybe we can nip it in the bud," Dr. Siegel said.

yep

i havent drank water in 10 years cuz I'm so afraid

nathanbx i havent drank water in 10 years cuz I'm so afraid

you have to drink ALOT of water to do this....and that's usually why they have gatorade at marathons instead of water...to replinish your sodium and electrolytes

nic379 you have to drink ALOT of water to do this....and that's usually why they have gatorade at marathons instead of water...to replinish your sodium and electrolytes they don't have gatorade instead of water because they think you're going to die.

they have gatorade at the racess so they can promote gatorade.

you can also be "overhydrated" from drinking too much water w/o exercise. happened to that one college kid, they made him drink and drink and drink water instead of alcohol during a hazing event. kid ended up dying.

Long distance cycling events I'll drink one 22oz bottle of Cytomax or Accelerade per hour 1/2 22oz bottle of water per hour and 3 Endurolytes caps per hour .. this is only for anything over 4 hours though .. less than that I skip the E-caps And for the record Gatorade is shitty at replacing electrolytes, they use it because its cheap (or free) compared to real carbo drinks.

yes. too much water = dliutes your sodium/electrolyte levels so you dont really die of water consumption, you die of not having enough sodium in your body to carry on natural processes

Back at ya jackhole

mike yes. too much water = dliutes your sodium/electrolyte levels so you dont really die of water consumption, you die of not having enough sodium in your body to carry on natural processes Too true. But, this also leads to kidney failure. So, you die of "dirty" blood.

People drink gatorade because the real stuff is thick and disgusting

Soularis People drink gatorade because the real stuff is thick and disgusting ...and not elite enough to drink the 'real stuff'.

mike yes. too much water = dliutes your sodium/electrolyte levels so you dont really die of water consumption, you die of not having enough sodium in your body to carry on natural processes I think it is important to think of it not as diluting sodium/electrolyte levels, and therefore not having enough sodium to carry on natural processes. If I eat some X amount of sodium in a day, and 3 litres of water, or if I eat X amount and drink 20 litres, I'm still gonna have the same sodium levels. The problem is that the the concentration of water in the plasma and extracellular fluids increase to a point where its greater than the water concentration in the intercellular fluid, so the water moves accross the semi pemrmeable membrane to follow its concentration gradient, causing Haemolysis, or the rupture of the cell. Or in the above article, swelling of the swells and where they meet the skull wall. If you are a person scientifically interested in this, the emergency response is to inject the paitent with either mannitol or its isotope D-sorbitol. These particles are too large to move accross the membrane. They increase the osmolarity of the extra cellular fluid, causing water to diffuse out of the cell into the blood stream, relieving the pressure on the brain

BUt yes, diluting electrolyte levels is key to this condition, as decreased osmolarity of blood = increased water concentration

my dad took care of an insane guy who drank wayyyyy too much water and had to go to the icu because his kidneys got fucked

so let me get this straight. you explode on the inside? cool post edd91 I think it is important to think of it not as diluting sodium/electrolyte levels, and therefore not having enough sodium to carry on natural processes. some dumb 16 year old bitch in colorado drank too much water after taking extacy and she died. Natural selection.

nonplus so let me get this straight. you explode on the inside? cool post Yeah your cells can rupture. Take a blood sample and mix in any molar amount of NaCl below 0.154M, the solution will turn red because of the exploded red blood cells. Even when spun in a centrifuge it will remain red

Rory, Esq. Yes, but you can just eat salt or salty foods while you're drinking, and you'll be fine. If you drink a ton of water, your kidneys will fail, too, but that's like 10 gallons, and I'm pretty sure sweat subtracts from that. Eh, if you drink 10 gallons in a substantially short period of time, you will die.

edd91 BUt yes, diluting electrolyte levels is key to this condition, as decreased osmolarity of blood = increased water concentration thanks for reiterating what i said to begin with but very informative post, nonetheless.

too much of a good thing is a bad thing... its all about moderation and finding the balance in life..

If you know your going to get totally trashed tonight...

If you know your going to get totally trashed tonight...

What would you do? Take a few protein shakes before? I know im going to be drunk tonight

protein shake with 4 tablespoons of olive oil in it, and drink another protein shake after you drink and like 3 glasses of water. you'll be super duper a-okay

just mix 12oz beer with 1 scoop of whey and enjoy x 10 when i get drunk i remember to eat something, usually some cottage cheese or some sort of protien before i pass out, and drink one big glass of water and take another to bed with me.

^^

i wouldnt worry about it.. just get plenty of water before bed. maybe down some milk?

jonno i wouldnt worry about it.. just get plenty of water before bed. maybe down some milk? Im lactose intollerant.... thats why i switched from water to milk for my protein shakes.....

deznutz Im lactose intollerant.... thats why i switched from water to milk for my protein shakes..... scratch that then

honestly... this is all you need to know about hangovers etc. http://health.howstuffworks.com/hangover.htm

deznutz Im lactose intollerant.... thats why i switched from water to milk for my protein shakes..... soy milk!

Lots of water while drinking and lots more right before bed. Take 2 advil before you hit the sack as well. One of my most successful drinking nights happened when I was about 18 - I had 2 big macs right before my friend's party, and drank like a fucking beast and felt smooth all night (no crazy spikes and dips in drunkedness) and felt great in the morning. So drink lots of water and eat more than you normally do before the party and you're all set.

Children's Ped-A-Lite. Best stuff ever created for eliminating hangovers. Drink some before going to bed/passing out. Wake up and have some more.

im not worried about hangovers....more about the nutrition aspect... maybe i should eat less for dinner, that way i can have more cals when i drink?

1 beer is barely more alcohol than a shot = 100 - 150 cals 1 shot of liquor is barely less alcohol than a beer = 70cals, 0carbs,0fat,0protein. Alcohol is its own calorie.

I wouldnt even waste my time trying to eat right or goto the gym that night or the next 2 days...its pointless

Smoke a joint in the morning...

I am always fine to work out the day after I drink. Just eat good and drink lots of water and you are perfectly fine.

"Headaches result from dehydration because the body's organs try to make up for their own water loss by stealing water from the brain" man fuck that

Alcohol + Dairy = bad news For me at least

PurEvl I wouldnt even waste my time trying to eat right or goto the gym that night or the next 2 days...its pointless

Ru-21

As an experience alcoholic take my advice- protein slows the synthesis of alcohol, so eat that before you start drinking (usually a bunch of tuna or a steak or some chicken wtfever...). Before you go to bed, and if you are really drunk this can be hard to do, but try to get 4-5-6 glasses of water pounded. Thats all there is too it, if you don't drink the water you are fucked. Eating tons of bread won't soak it up or anything so don't bother. Another thing I found that helps out is to have pre-made healthy foods out for when you get the munchies, with your inhibitions down its easy to want to go grab fast food or something shitty...you will regret it the next day and feel like a fat ass. Just make something and put it in the fridge so later when you are stumbling around it will seem like a burried treasure and you can devour it

alcohol is 7 calories per gram, but the body doesnt use it for exercise. It's also a diuretic. Being drunk won't do anything do your muscles, just factor in the calories, and make sure you drink water and burn the Cals. eat less today so you are more easily affected by the alch...then eat more tomorrow after you've pissed it out.

if you really care about the nutrition aspect of it, don't drink

If you know your going to get totally trashed tonight...

Whey Protein or Creatine ?

Whey Protein or Creatine ?

Which is more valuable to new muscle growth for non-religious weight lifters who exercise regularly and lift twice a week Max? Is there another supplement (other than Multi-V) that is more vital ???

If your diet is protein deficient, then the whey protein would be more beneficial. If you are already getting adequate protein through whole foods, then creatine would be more beneficial. It goes without saying that you should be using a good MV, and supplementing EFA's.

sprite If your diet is protein deficient, then the whey protein would be more beneficial. If you are already getting adequate protein through whole foods, then creatine would be more beneficial. It goes without saying that you should be using a good MV, and supplementing EFA's. good info! I did say in my first post anything else other than "Multi-V", meaning i already use a good one but would want to look into something to help in gaining muscle growth. What is "EFA"? And why does that guy want to kill me, all i do i eat googles for breakfast nothing more nothing less

id go as far to say if you arent real involved stay away from creatine

Opi id go as far to say if you arent real involved stay away from creatine Hmm i was an athlete but was never really informed on body enhancers so i never took them. What is bad about Creatine other than the occassional cramp through dehydration?

It won't help you "gain muscle", it will, however, help with body composition. There are two paragraphs on this in the Fish Oil article. Different products as a means to the same end.

How much water should I be drinking everyday

How much water should I be drinking everyday

stupid question for you guys i guess but i would like to know

i would drink at least a gallon

.66 times your bodyweight (ounces) 5 clear pees a day (at least)

Socrates .66 times your bodyweight (ounces) 5 clear pees a day (at least) all i would be doing all day is drinking water!

drink drink! i love water but i hate having to pee all the time.

but i know i drink about 1 1/2 gal a day

nic379 all i would be doing all day is drinking water! No it really isn't as hard as you think. While you are at home at night, just keep sipping on some ice water, drink drink drink, but not too fast to where you will feel like you are getting really full (of water...). When I do it, I piss about once every 45-50 minutes. Fun to watch it clear out your system .

AmCo drink drink! i love water but i hate having to pee all the time. sometimes i piss a couple times a hour, but i just love it so much

Fun to watch it clear out your system . well i know that I of all people should be drinking alot of water because I get kidney infections all the time. i never drank alot of water when i was younger..just juice and koolaid and such. i had major kidney surgery when i was 3..so why my mom didnt make me drink gallons of water is beyond me...but o well. so now when i drink alot of water..it makes me nauseated. is that weird? i'm up to about 60-80 ounces of water a day...which is much better than the 20 i was getting

A gallon.

drink lots of water every meal, depending on your activity level and shit will vary. I take 32oz a meal @ 9 meals a day

5 clear urinations a day at min, 2 of them post workout

i drink a lot my pee is clear

I drank 2 gallons in about 6 hours while at work yesterday just for fun. I peed 5 times an hour.

you guys know that you can drink TOO much water right? If you overhydrate yourself you can die I believe.

I know that I don't drink enough.. it's the last component of cutting that I am trying to wrangle.

64oz a day

nic379 you guys know that you can drink TOO much water right? If you overhydrate yourself you can die I believe. you need to drink ALOT of water to do that, torture/drugs is the only way i see it happening.

nic379 you guys know that you can drink TOO much water right? If you overhydrate yourself you can die I believe. yeah... but you hafta drink and undrinkable amount of water to overhydrate

I follow the "8 glasses minumum" rule. I keep my water bottle with me at all times (almost, i'm still a little forgetful). it makes it a ton easier to drink the water if it's right there all the time. GND taught me a neat trick- put a few drops of lemon juice in the water to give it a little flavor. I just drink refrigerated tap water so it helps a lot.

nic379 you guys know that you can drink TOO much water right? If you overhydrate yourself you can die I believe. true story had a breifing on that when i was in the army

, i'm going to go get a glass of it right now.

It is possible to flush out your system of valuable vitamins/minerals. One of the symptoms is a craving for more, believe it or not, water! The type of water we drink directly affects us. Dehydration can reduce athletic performance and lead to fatigue, and it is vital for those who are exercising to drink enough water. A general rule is to drink twice as much water as is necessary to quench thirst. Exercise also increases needs for electrolytes, sodium, chloride and potassium. Magnesium and calcium needs may also be greater. You said you feel nauseated when you drink water? Are you on any meds?

I was on a decongestant a week ago...but it's been making me nauseated for years. I sucked it up though and this last 2 weeks, I've been drinking alot of water..and I love it now. It sucks that my tap water is kinda nasty, and i can't afford enough bottles...but I just keep making myself drink the tap water becaue it's better than none.

tize 5 clear pees and 1 wet shit i don't shit everyday. That's only normal for some people..not everyone. O wait..I'm a girl, I never shit

Anyone else get headaches after working out?

Anyone else get headaches after working out?

I made a thread about this a while ago, but I can't find it so I'll make a new one. Everytime I work out, I get a headache about an hour or so afterwards. It's not a really bad headache, but being someone who rarely gets headaches, it's annoying. Does this happen to anyone else? FYI: I drink plenty of water before my workout and try to replace exactly how much I lose through sweat. Edit: It doesn't seem to matter how hard I workout. Tonight I ran 1.5 miles at 5.5mph, then did some inclined dumbbell presses with 25lb weights just as a light "getting back into working out" workout. Edit:I've solved my problem It turns out it was nutrition related. Here's what I changed: - I now make sure I eat something 45-60 mintues before my workout; I normally eat a banana and a sandwich. - I eat a banana in the morning - I take a multivitamin - I drink gatorade after my workout (to replace sodium/sugar) - I eat a small meal no later than 60 minutes after my workout followed by another small meal 30-45 minutes later - I make sure to drink a lot of water throughout the day I'm not sure what exactly fixed it, but I don't care. I feel more energized before, during and after my workouts and I feel better in general. I'm still having a head CT scan done just to be safe, but other than that, .

Blood pressure.

Ilyusha Blood pressure. You know...I originally thought the same thing a few months ago, so I took my blood pressure when I started to experience the headaches...122/78 on average.

Ilyusha Take it before and immediately after your workouts. I'll do that. What should I look for? Normal before and high after? I just took it 3x and I averaged 135/83. Edit: And what should I do to deal with it? Also, thanks for helping me out, these headaches are really starting to bother me.

Also, thanks for helping me out, these headaches are really starting to bother me. Well you should take maybe a 2 week log of pre and post workout readings, as well as off day readings, and take your findings to a doctor (schedule an appt ahead of time, etc.). Make sure you visit a doctor, as this can be just about anything, but blood pressure would be my first guess. If you have a family history of a multitude of things, such as heart problems, kidney problems, migraines, general headaches, etc. it could be a reason for your headaches. So take some readings and go to a doctor and take it from there... By the way, your blood pressure is above normal.

Everyone in my family has high blood pressure, but no heart/kidney problems. Nobody in any part of my family has problems with headaches/migraines. I know it's above normal, which is weird. This is the first time I've taken it and it has been high. The other times I had headaches it was never this high.

Basically every day for 2 weeks, while making sure to mark what time the readings were taken and if you were at the gym or not. A history of high blood pressure can contribute to your elevated blood pressure. I have what is known as white coat hypertension - whenever I have my blood pressure measured at a hospital, it is elevated. Whenever it is measured at home, or anywhere else but a hospital/clinic, it's normal. Pretty lame, but that's the way it is for me..

Whenever it is measured at home, or anywhere else but a hospital/clinic, it's normal. Pretty lame, but that's the way it is for me.. That's totally understandable (the white coat hypertension). I have spoken to my doctor about this and he thinks it's nothing, but I think I'm going to have him order a CT scan of my head and possibly an MRI/MRA (whatever the thing is that looks at the blood vessels within your brain). One thing I have noticed is a vein in my right temple that was either never there, or never noticable before I started working out again a few months ago. I can feel my heartbeat in this vein in my temple all of the time and it pounds really hard while I'm exercising. Maybe I just have increased bloodflow to my head?

my brother had similar things happen to him. He used to run a lot, he did two marathons but ended up with bad headaches afterwards, one time even going to the hospital. Then he started noticing his heart race and headaches after normal everyday runs. Then, he would notice his heart racing doing menial household chores around his house. It took the news of a major league baseball players death in his 30's of a heart attack for him to see a doctor. A couple actually because the first one said everything was fine. It turns out he had a birth defect in his heart where he was born with a small hole between the chambers in the heart. Usually, if they don't catch this within 6 months of birth, it will be a huge problem at about 40 or 50. Because he ran so much and stressed his body, it made the hole bigger and blood was passing through, this meant one half of his heart had to pump harder than the rest and was considerably bigger. Luckily his body is still young and he had to have open heart surgery. The doctors closed up the hole and now he's better than new. Moral of the story, it might not be your head at all.

Wow...I certainly hope that's not the case for me. I'm glad everything turned out ok with him. I'm actually on hold right now waiting to speak with my doctor. I'm going to ask him to have all the necessary tests run.

Anyone else?

I worked out again today (around 5:30pm) for about an hour. I did some shoulder exercises today using the "high weight, low rep" method. I was doing fine for the majority of my workout and never really felt as though I was going to get a headache. I did take one tylenol before the workout, so that might be why. About 3 hours after my workout I started to get a headache again. The headaches are usually preceeded by a pulsating in my head, which lasts from before the headache to well after. I've checked my blood pressure throughout the day and it's been around 130/80 all the time. My doctor is scheduling a CT scan for me, so we can see if there's something going on in my head. I sure hope not .

What helped me with migranes/headaches in general was to drink a lot more water.

kingrukus What helped me with migranes/headaches in general was to drink a lot more water. How much were you drinking and how much more did you add? Right now I drink about 4 water bottles a day (16.9oz each). I'll usually drink one or two in the morning/afternoon, one during my workout (to replace water I lose), and one or two after that.

Whenever I went to a chiropractor for neck problems, I started getting headaches during the workouts. Usually chest workouts or any pushing motion. Somehow it just worked itself out I guess.

hootpie How much were you drinking and how much more did you add? Right now I drink about 4 water bottles a day (16.9oz each). I'll usually drink one or two in the morning/afternoon, one during my workout (to replace water I lose), and one or two after that. I was hardly drinking any water...about 2 500ml bottles a day (1L)...i stepped up to about 8 500ml bottles (4L) and that helped things.

I'll try increasing my water intake on days that I workout because I do tend to sweat a lot. I'll see if that helps. I don't think it's an issue of dehydration because my urine is always clear.

I've been doing a lot of reading and came up with some things that others might find useful (especially if they search for this in the future). Post-exercise headaches are sometimes called "exertional headaches" and can be caused by nothing more than blood pressure rising/intracranial pressure increasing. It can also be caused by a lack of sodium in the body and/or dehydration. Of course, the headaches could also be the sign of something else, so it's always best to consult a physician to be safe. Apparently the best way to fight these types of headaches are to stay hydrated very well and eat within 1 hour after your exercise. It helps to eat something with sodium in it after your workout as well (i.e. crackers). A combination of carbs, sodium, protein and water post-workout is the best. I'm guessing something like tuna-fish spread over saltine crackers would work best. I'm going to try this myself to see if it gets rid of these headaches I've been getting. If not, I'm going to go see a neurologist to make sure nothing is wrong. I'll update this thread for anyone who is interested.

Feel Great After Your Workout

What to do so You Feel Great After Your Workout

Feel Great After Your Workout

Exercise should, technically, make you feel more energized, toned and fit -- not tired or sore. And while a little bit of fatigue and aches are normal, if you feel awful after you workout it's a surefire way to quickly give up your routine. Here are 14 simple tips that you can use before, during and after your next workout to make sure you feel the way exercise is intended to make you feel: great!

1. Make sure your body has fuel. Eating a small snack about an hour before your workout may help give you energy.
2. Get enough sleep. If your body is truly tried, your workout will only exacerbate this feeling.
3. When you start a new exercise routine, or increase intensity/duration, do so gradually.
4. Take a few minutes to warm-up before your workout.
5. After you workout, stretch your muscles.
6. Don't exhaust yourself. If you're feeling completely out of breath or extremely fatigued, decrease the intensity of your workout.
7. Give yourself time to recover. Avoid training the same muscle groups two days in a row.
8. Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can lead to fatigue.
9. Eat something after your workout. Eating a mixture of protein and complex carbs within 90 minutes of working out will help repair your muscles and give you energy. Some great snack ideas include nuts and fruit, yogurt or cheese and whole-grain crackers or a tuna sandwich on whole-wheat bread.

If you've already worked out and now feel sore, here's what you can do to soothe your achy muscles:

10. Massage the area.
11. Apply a cold pack to the area.
12. Use BlueStop MAX Arthritis Pain Gel, a natural, proven topical gel that will relieve your pain in minutes.
13. Give it time. Muscle soreness should go away on its own in a few days.
14. Do some low-impact exercise. This increases blood flow to your muscles and can help to relieve soreness.
