The harder I work out - the more hungry I am during the day


I was doing fine with a bowl of cereal and a glass of OJ in the morning and not eating until dinner time... but for the past few days I upped my workout to an extra hour of hard cardio and now i am voraciously hungry during lunch time A few minutes ago i was sitting at my desk, and i had the biggest craving for a salad or something green. Since i was running short on time, i settled for a subway sandwhich, but i havent eaten lunch for a while now. Is this normal or should i supress my desire to eat?

But when i workout at night during the week - i work out hard. my goal is to have my shirt soaked in sweat and i have to actually ring it out like a soaked towel

then if you're gonna eat that snack at lunch try to make it low cal. count your calories www.fitday.com and eat around 2000 cals, with working out and cardio you should lose no problem.

For dinner i usually have one of those healthy choice meals that is at a max 500 calories. Maybe some pineapple pieces of an apple when i get home from the gym. Plus more water than jebus to drink

Creatine Monohydrate VS CEE? Can anyone explain the difference and sum up the pro/cons of one vs the other? From here I have read the following so far.. 1. 10x more soluble in water than creatine monohydrate. Therefore, it will absorb from the intestines better, achieving higher blood levels faster and preventing the upset stomach that some people get from monohydrate. 2. It's much more stable, won't degrade into creatinine in the stomach. 3. You bloat with monohydrate and do not with CEE Pardon my lack of intellgence, but what does it look/feel like to bloat? Feels like you have eaten too much? Thanks

What else do you need to know, there are like 11ty billion threads on this topic in this forum alone.

CEE is better than mono because I haven't tried mono and am saying this based only on like 3 weeks of CEE usage and have no other clinical facts to prove this whatsoever. So order CEE today.

CEE is mono that is esterfied. It make the creatine able to dissolve completely in water, making it better absorbed and effective at lower doses. Not many studies have been done on cee...but the results speak for themselves imo. I get mine from customnutritionwarehouse because they test every patch they get for purity, because there has been an issue with fake cee.

I have had a hard time eating breakfast lately. Even after a good night's rest, I wake up, get ready and walk to get to the dining hall and thats a good 15-20 minutes after I wake up. I will take like two bites and either feel full or have some stomach pains. Anyone else have this problem? Anything I should do?

i know what you're talking about, it happens to me sometimes, not exactly sure why it is though, i usually wait a little bit and eat, but im also not bulking, if you're bulking i'd consider just forcing that shit down and toughing out the pain and you'll get used to it.

happens to me every fucking day I normally just eat Oatmeal and a banana or something and force down my Creatine, glass of water, fish oil and all taht shit then I eat alot more later

Basically all my life I never ate anything untill noon-3 pm, I was just never hungry...At night I would eat constantly, everything in sight. As long as I don't eat too much at night I'm hungry in the morning

i cant eat solid food for my first meal of the day, so i always do a shake. its not hard to crap 800-1000 calories into one, which i think is a pretty good start on the day

ive been experiencing this weird eating pattern...


hey guys ive been working on cutting since late january and ive been seeing some gradual results. ive changed my diet from junk food, to lesser junk foods to a more healthy diet. lately, ive been focusing on keeping things in moderation while trying to maintain my healthy diet. everyday, i eat a cottage cheese and tuna sandwhich for lunch, breakfast is shredded wheat and cottage cheese, a myoplex bar for snack.. soemtimes fruit and trail mix... and then for dinnner, i eat some kind of meat with rice or anything that i can tell wouldnt be too unhealthy for me. this past week or two, my apetite has been changing. every two hours, i get hungry.. like i gotta eat something but i cant eat too much. my stomach shrank i guess and i can only eat so much in one sitting, but after, i get hungry again. and for some reason, i have to walk or do someting after each meal. has anyone experienced this? cliffs: after four months of cutting, my apetite is changing and craving more food.

Whats your body fat? Maybe its your choice of food too. Some types of food aren't as fulfilling.

well.. i started at 29% i havent taken a test since i started so im not sure what im at now. today i woke up kinda late so i couldnt really make my food. but i was able to eat... -a bag of trail mix -one plain tuna and cottage cheese sandwich -rice with some grilled pork and egg (im not sure if this is too bad for you) -vietnamese sandwich - grilled pork

i dont count my calories like i used to.. i figured the meal would work around 300-400 each time.. but youre right, i might not be taking in enough calories?

not enough calories and no "fillers" really. when in doubt up your aqua intake. it may help offset some of your hunger.

too many simple carbs.. eat more low GI complex carbs. No white bread on those sandwiches, get ezekiel bread or stone ground whole wheat bread. Dont eat white rice, eat brown rice.. and only in limited amounts etc.

I was recommended to get an inversion table for the lower back but I figure the g-boots would also allow me to do some exercises.

I would be afraid of the boots coming unhooked and falling, I've seen someone using them before though, look like they'd be a good exercise

i finally assembled my gravity table and started using it. i haven't gone to full inversion yet, but even at a 30 degree angle it really does help both my lower back and neck. the model i got is called teeter hangups f5000 i think and i had the option to get the gravity boots with it for 80 bucks more but i didn't. if you can, i would get a table over the boots timberwolf, the flexiblity of choosing your angle of inversion and the safety make it worth it to me.

what if you couldn't get down and you toppled over the really expensive fish tank in a gigilo's apartment? no but on a serious note, you can do sit ups with a partner by hanging off his stomach with your legs...yeah sounds really gay but I do it for fight training. Jump up and wrap your legs around the guys waist with your hands around his neck. Let go of his neck, lower down and touch your head to the ground then go up and touch your head to his chest. If you can't do them by yourself grab onto his hands for a little extra help...this is more sport specific as it really works your legs to hold onto the other person, similar to keeping them in your guard on the ground.

Ha Ha. This thread is hilarious. On a serious note, I used gravity boots for a long period of time and they were absolutely amazing. You can work so much more and through a far greater field of motion. I wish I owned some.

when I grew in weight I got them on my sides. but now they're gone. it takes a couple years. some kind of silicone gel or cream helps speed that up

Its meant to reduce scaring, its worth asking your doc about next check up.

I've have them from working out my chest, right between my shoulders and my Pecs. I noticed them when I was 16 and they just kept getting bigger as I kept working out, five years later there starting to fade, but still noticeable. I heard Mederma works good on stretch marks, but it's expensive and you have to use it 3-4 times a day for 8-12 weeks.

if yours went away, you obviously dont have the stretch marks we are talking about... Mine were so large at one point that they ripped open a bit. Now in that area the skin feels very thin, as if the lower layers arent really there.

crazy, I have like zero stretch marks. maybe certain skin types are more prone.

I've heard mixed things about it. I'm about to make my first order on 1fast400 and I don't know which flavor to get. I've heard that Vanilla is nasty shit and regular Chocolate is the way to go. Just wondering if the C&C tastes absolutely rancid or something.

ON is your best bet for price since BSL bit the dust...ive heard most people liking vanilla and strawberry too from ON. i recently got hooked on syntrax nectar, its more expensive though, mucle milk is good too.

If you are mixing with other fruits in a blender, go with strawberry.

I am taking it right now and it's not bad at all, I do belive it mixes better than the chocolate one.

ON tastes like watered down <insert flavor>... The only Protein powder I've tried and liked is Muscle Milk with Myoplex being second. I just got a tub from True protein and it tastes like ON, based on flavor alone there is nothing special about it & its the same price if not more expensive than ON.

the original ON cookies and creme was rancid. However, I guess they figured it out and reformulated it, from what I hear it actually tastes pretty decent now.

ok. ive been lifting steadily for 1 year now. i am 5'9 and weigh 180 lbs. my stomach is some what flat, i have a good amount of muscle considering the time ive been lifting. incorporated cardio in my regiment and im doing good so far. my question is...am i getting enough caloric intake? id estimate according to fitday that my caloric intake is around 2100 calories. ive tried to keep all the proportions correct, protein to fat to carbs. my daily protein intake is 296 grams., fat 50 grams, carbs 139 grams. all that comes to 2099 calories roughly. i feel like im not eating enough? i want to gain my muscle mass but would like to keep it lean. do i need to eat more and where do i need more of? im not getting any bigger or thicker. and my gains are slowing down. any suggestions? im open to anything. my routine involves heavy weights, 4 times a week with 3 days of cardio. 1 day of high intensity, 1 day low intensity and another day just to mess around on the punching bag or outdoors like biking on a weekend. keep in mind that my caloric intake on the weekends is much greater given that igo out and drink and party.

what to eat more of? food. Doesnt matter what for the most part. You arent going to get really fat. Hell you arent going to get *somewhat* fat in a day. Eat more, assess your gains, cut as you feel is neccessary but dont be a pussy if you see a little bit of pudge.

I actually have to agree with Tize on that one, it just isn't exactly 2 years of progress. Even taking off 3 months, it just doesn't look right. Not trying to put you down, but just want to help you and maybe try to -up your calories -intensity -new split etc, find what works best for you

Lost a significant (100lbs) of weight, and now your stuck with this loose, pudgy, loose skin..... Ill tell you, if you didnt know i lost 100 lbs, you would probably think it was a sack of fat or something. Its a huge thing for me....i dont know if it is for other people who have lost weight. I hate the sag on my stomach the most. But with it also, my muscles dont nearly look defined if i didnt have it.

Skin is incredibly elastic. Just look at what women go through during pregnancy. Skin has the ability to expand and contract back to normal to a remarkable degree. 2. Elasticity of skin tends to decrease with age. Wrinkling and loss of elasticity is partly the consequence of aging (genetic factors) and also a result of environmental factors such as oxidative stress, excessive sun exposure, and nutritional deficiency. The environmental parts you can fix, the genetics and age part, you cannot. Advice: Get moving and change the things you have control over... Be realistic and don't worry about those things you don't have control over. 3. How much your skin will return to its former tautness therefore, depends partly on age. The older you get, the more an extremely large weight loss can leave loose skin that will not return to normal 4. How long someone carries extra weight has a lot to do with how much the skin will become taut after the weight loss: For example, compare a 9 month pregnancy with 9 years carrying 100 excess pounds. 5. How much weight was carried has a lot to do with how much the skin will resume a tight appearance. Your skin can only be stretched so much and be expected to "snap back" one hundred percent. 6. If you're considering surgical skin removal, consult a physician for advice, because this is not a minor operation, but keep in mind that your plastic surgeon may be making his BMW payments with your abdominoplasty money. (Surgery may be recommended in situations where it's not 100% necessary). Surgery should be left as the ABSOLUTE FINAL option in extreme cases. 11. Give your skin time. Your skin will get tighter as your body fat gets lower. I've seen and heard of many cases where the skin gradually tightened up, at least partially, after a one or two year period where the weight loss was maintained and exercise continued. 12. Know your body fat percentage before even THINKING about surgery. Loose skin is one thing, but still having body fat is another. Be honest with yourself and do that by taking your body fat measurement. This can be done with skinfold calipers or a variety of other devices (calipers might not be the best option for those with large folds of loose skin. Look into impedance analysis, underwater weighing, DEXA or Bod Pod). Suppose for example, a man drops from 35% body fat all the way down to 20%. He should be congratulated, but I would tell him, "Don't bitch about loose skin, your body fat is still high. Press onward and keep getting leaner." Average body fat for men is in the mid teens (16% or so) Good body fat for men is 10-12%, and single digits is extremely lean (men shouldn't expect to look "ripped" with 100% tight skin on the abs unless they have single digit body fat, and women low teens). Except in extreme cases, you are very unlikely to see someone with loose skin who has very low body fat. It's quite remarkable how much your skin can tighten up and literally start to "cling" to your abdominal muscles once your body fat goes from "average" to "excellent." Someone with legitimate single digit body fat and a ton of loose skin is a rare sight. So... the key to getting tighter skin is to lose more body fat, up to the point where your body composition rating is BETTER than average (in the "good" to "great" category, not just "okay"). Only AFTER you reach your long term body fat percentage goal should you give thought to "excess skin removal." At that point, admittedly, there are bound to be a few isolated cases where surgery is necessary if you can't live with the amount of loose skin remaining. well i just got home from the hospital, this fucking sucks. I thought for sure my kidneys were letting go. I have had massive back pain, stomach cramps and pain, pissing out my ass all night and nasua. Hearts a little racey as well, most likely anxiety though. Turns out I have a very bad gastronal virus infection. And the stomach pain raidated to my back. They did tests on me, check my urine, bp, temp, everythings fine except he said my urine was all ketones and looked like I was starving myself LOL! Today was high carb up day and i went only after one meal since it wouldnt stay down. Im on some meds that seem to be helping but hopefully not hurting my condition. Im very weak and my joints kill and the medicen gives me bad headaches...but believe it or not Im still gonna try if im ok somewhat by sunday. If I miss even going to watch im gonna be heartbroken. I already kinda am but when i thought i was checking out I couldnt stop thinking about my baby girl and how selfish I am by hurting myself. But thank god im ok, i never do stupid shit either so it was kinda shock to feel this way. What damn luck...2 days out for christ sake. But im putting on pro tan and shaving and carbing up today as planned and gonna play it day by day. I will let ya know how it turns out

Ok, since my last thread got locked http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=1773124 (which was a joke, though I actually did that routine) I wanted to ask you guys a question. 2-3 weeks ago after reaching a new max on bench, I started getting some (fairly) dull pain in my elbow. It definetely feels like it is in the tendon or joint or something, or at least it isnt muscular. One of the weirder, more specific times it hurts is if my elbow is totally folded (forearm parallel to bicep), which happens when im in bed. I tried doing some light db curls today and even that resulted in some pain. And yeah, I should see a dr, and if its not better in a week or so I'll make an appointment. So, have any of you guys experienced similar pain, and if so, what was it? PS, I also have some back/leg/stomach injuries, which is why my workouts are so weaksauce

Well I've come to a point in my life I want to improve my muscle mass without the use of any crap that will ruin any internal organs ( aka I wont do power protien shakes at all or steriods). I'm pretty average kid around stomach chest legs, not overweight little under weight ( wish I had a pic )... but my arm muscle mass is REALLY REALLY low. Anyone have any ideas of the best method to boost this? Right now I'm lifting weights every day for about 20 minutes doing sit ups push ups and the weights. Any help would be great

when you change your diet (amount of food you intake basically), how long does it take your metabolism to adjust? ie. get used to the new amount of food intake and disappear that hungry feeling, because i used to overeat, and now that i've lowered it to the amount i should be eating i get hungry

about 2300 and i'm 180lbs

learn to like feeling hungry. when i wanted to lose weight i dropped my cals to prolly 1500 or lower a day (too low). i was always hungry and i just liked it. i didnt really know what i was doing, but i lost 30lbs in a 3-4 months.

try some hoodia (http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=1666) or nicotine (gum or patches). If you want major appetite suppression then get ahold of some bromocriptine.

nathanbx 30lbs in 3-4 months is pretty normal actually I have lost 20 in two with minimal muscle loss.

BTW, you just have to wait for your stomach to shrink. Your metabolism doesn't have as much to do with the hungry feeling as the stretch receptors in your stomach. You will get used to it. It is weird, when I cut and I eat I feel fat, when I bulk and I don't eat I feel skinny.

Ok so as most of you know I got a bad case of colitis in late December, got out of the hospital on January 7th and didn't touch a weight for 8 weeks after that. Now I am going to show you my progress since I started lifting and bulking hardcore. Ok I went from a lean 215 to an abysmal 180 back to 215 but not as good looking Well I plan to keep on eating everything in sight through summer (fuck a beach body this year) and hopefully hit 240 or 250 fairly soon before I cut again (may run Superdrol soon). I have been doing DeFranco's "Westside for Skinny Bastards" routine the whole time and have liked it but have thought about switching over to a CP plan for bodybuilders. If I were to do something like that, what exercises would you recommend and what type of split? I'm pretty new to CP but apparently it's the best thing since dbawlz so I want to try it out. I also would like to hit the gym more than 3 times a week, if possible because I feel like my body responds better than if I were only going 3 days or so. So what do you guys think? Sorry for being such a skinny bitch

Yeah all my muscle was killed off before the prednisone.

Same friend who told me about the stomach not being able to handle more than 25 g of protein in a serving said that carbs are necessary to "push protein through your system". And also that I should be eating double the amount of carbs as I am protein... The first part seemed like it could be based in truth somehow... second part sounds ridiculous compared to everything I've seen about successful bulking diets.

I've got no clue what teh hell he could mean about carbs pushing protein through your system? :?: As for how much protein, will, you should be taking in around 1-1.5 g/lb (you only need around 1), 20-30% cals from fat and carbs should make up the balance of cals. So depending on what you set your proetin intake at, your carb-protin ratio can vary from approx 1.25:1 (protein = 1.5g/lb) to 2.38:1 (protein = 1 g/lb) assuming consisent fat intake % So technically your friend is right on the second point (2:1 ratio occurs at protein = 1.125 g/lb), but the reasons why he thinks it are probably way off base.
