Just want to see what everyone likes to eat while they are cutting/dieting. I want to know what's good and what's bad. I usually eat Chicken Breast and Tuna. What about Potatos? Are most fruits healthy?

I use the asian hot chilli oil which is like 5 calories for every tablespoon of the stuff. Though when I was dieting down I was using alot of oatmeal, still do though now though, guess it's force of habit.

Foods that I like, lower portions and healthier versions (lite/sugarfree/etc...) i don't push myself too hard to eat superclean or only certain things. I already eat pretty clean as it is, minus a cheat meal here or there...

ive been experiencing this weird eating pattern...


hey guys ive been working on cutting since late january and ive been seeing some gradual results. ive changed my diet from junk food, to lesser junk foods to a more healthy diet. lately, ive been focusing on keeping things in moderation while trying to maintain my healthy diet. everyday, i eat a cottage cheese and tuna sandwhich for lunch, breakfast is shredded wheat and cottage cheese, a myoplex bar for snack.. soemtimes fruit and trail mix... and then for dinnner, i eat some kind of meat with rice or anything that i can tell wouldnt be too unhealthy for me. this past week or two, my apetite has been changing. every two hours, i get hungry.. like i gotta eat something but i cant eat too much. my stomach shrank i guess and i can only eat so much in one sitting, but after, i get hungry again. and for some reason, i have to walk or do someting after each meal. has anyone experienced this? cliffs: after four months of cutting, my apetite is changing and craving more food.

Whats your body fat? Maybe its your choice of food too. Some types of food aren't as fulfilling.

well.. i started at 29% i havent taken a test since i started so im not sure what im at now. today i woke up kinda late so i couldnt really make my food. but i was able to eat... -a bag of trail mix -one plain tuna and cottage cheese sandwich -rice with some grilled pork and egg (im not sure if this is too bad for you) -vietnamese sandwich - grilled pork

You might not be eating enough. Do you count your calories?

i dont count my calories like i used to.. i figured the meal would work around 300-400 each time.. but youre right, i might not be taking in enough calories?

not enough calories and no "fillers" really. when in doubt up your aqua intake. it may help offset some of your hunger.

too many simple carbs.. eat more low GI complex carbs. No white bread on those sandwiches, get ezekiel bread or stone ground whole wheat bread. Dont eat white rice, eat brown rice.. and only in limited amounts etc.

Fast food diet?


I usually eat 1-2 meals per day and usually unhealthy(burgers etc). What are some ok places for a picky eater to try and change up my mentality.

The grocery store. 'Nuff Said.

Honestly, if you want a healthy place to eat and you're picky (I'm assuming you're wanting to lose weight) you have no other choice than to make a life change and start learning how to cook and eat healthy.

christophers whats wrong with some sodium, its actually beneficial to athletes/bb'rs pre contest diet guru scot abel suggested 2g per liter of water consumed daily it strongly varies by person. If you were to eat a couple of those subs a day that would add up quick, + all the sodium from the other BS. Not everyone on here the lifts is an athlete. Some might lift and sit in a office all day, therefore not needing the surplus of sodium

I don't have any reputable places to search. I searched yahoo for some links, there's tons of newspaper articles and shit, but no studies to back it. For the average person though, that much sodium is entirely too much. Maybe just because I'm a little bias because hypertension is quite common in my family.. I'm actually borderline to hypertension, 135-140 depending on the day and my sodium intake is fairly low

basically acclude, what you need to do is stop being lazy, go to the grocery store, buy tons of healthy food, and buy some of those cheap tupperware to take along and make meals, lots of them at night and bring food with you in a plastic sack. i do it everyday as well as many people on this board do.

This is true. I bring a cooler to work with me every day with my food..you simply do better if you know exactly what's in your lunch.

subway is about the best of the bunch. i get a footlong turkey (double meat usually) on wheat and make 2 meals out of it. togos tuna sammich is also good

I know it's a topic here every day but i wanted to get some advice. I'm doing good with my cut but would like to do better. :impatient: I think i have my diet done pretty well. im getting 2000-2500 cal a day 200-300g protein and about 70%/30% carbs/fat. I lift MWTF and 7 days befor i hit the same groop cardio on that days off and nothing on sunday, i also cheat for sunday dinners. is the stack going to help me alot of am i doing enough as is? again im happy with the results but if the stack is going to speed it up considerably ill try it. what do ya guys think? clifffs for the lazy: my diet/workout is good, is the stack worth it?

im saying if im getting my 2-3 pounds a week, is this going to increase that by any real amount?

Too much protein. he's right, this will be an unsuccessful cut without dietary changes. you may find that you end up with less lbm/fat mass. according to your fitday log, your ratios are 10%fat, 27%carb, and 63% protein. if you're adding protein powder on top of that, the ratios are more skewed with way too much protein. you need more carbs and fat if you want to lose fat instead of muscle. even with that much protein, your body will be burning it as the primary fuel instead of releasing fat to burn.

i think you're asking for low blood sugar problems and i'd be surprised if you can maintain your current lbm thru this cut with the thermo

BrickTamland i started it today im pretty fucking jittery from the last 200mg of caffeine but i'm supposed to take another 200mg with ephedrine now give it a few days. my first day i was cracked out. now i can feel the energy, but i dont feel the sides at all.

I'm going to start on a stricter diet today and was thinking I could get away with cooking chicken just once a day. Say, throw 4 breasts onto my Foreman grill, have 2 for lunch, 2 for dinner. Alternate BBQ with other marinades. I wanted to minimize time in the kitchen cooking. I was wondering what you guys do for your meat, whether it is chicken or something else. I am on a strict schedule with work and school and don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen.

I sometimes cook a whole 10-lb pack from costco in the oven in a big glass pan; olive oil and pepper, or random seasonings, lasts several days. Lately though I've been cooking extra at dinner for the next day..it tastes a *lot* better when it's not two days old. Today's chicken: pan-seared with white wine worcestshire sauce and dijon mustard. Mm.

i have a broiling pan and do 6 at a time in the oven then i just keep them in the fridge till i need them.

If you guys like to buy whole split chicken breasts than i recomend that you make some Chicken Catchatori !!! Soak them in italian dressing for 24 hours and then grill on the foreman or if I don't have time to marinate I just put few slices in them and stick a little butter in the slices then cover with some salt and pepper and grill.

Okay here is my problem I'm a 28 year old male and I'm skinny as all hell. I could pass for 16 probably to be honest. I have tried and tried to gain weight but just can't. I eat and eat and eat and nothing really. I don't really have access to a gym so I have to make do with those weight benches you buy from the store to work out with. This is all good and fine but all it's doing is toning me out not really gaining any mass or muscle. It's downright embarassing to be as skinny as I am and I was curious if anyone knows of any products or excersises or something I can do to get some meat on my bones? I don't want to be like friggin Hulk Hogan or anything but to be in shape and not a twig would be really nice. Thanks for any help you guys can offer without flaming the shit out of me lol.

i'm looking at my food journal and i notice on a typical day, i get ~70% of my potein from shakes. i've been super busy at work and don't have time to prepare my meals or go to resturants, so i've been living off of deli (subway and quisnos) sandwhiches for about 2 months now, and rely on 4-8 servings of ON for protein. i'm at 190lbs and cutting if it makes any difference. the weekends are ok as i grill fish or chicken at least once a day, it's only during the week that the majority of my prortien comes from shakes. typical weekday meal plan looks like: oatmeal 2 servings on sammich 2 servings on sammich 2 servings on throw in a pre and post shake on days i workout. i know it will be asked: no, i don't have time to make eggs in the morning. only reason i can even eat breakfast is because i make my oatmeal at work and shovel it down as i read my email in the morning

The only time I was ever told to make sure all my protein, or at least the majority of it, came from whole foods, was when a chinese herbalist told me my ying and yang and Chi was all out of wack. I changed my diet accordingly, and became sick and more tired and well all negative affects. I like the taste of food better, but sometimes its easier to make a shake and forget about it.

Getting a bunch from shakes is better than not getting enough. My only problem with relying on shakes too much is that they don't fill me up at all, so I do my best to get as much from whole foods as possible to keep my cravings down.

protein is protein but meat is sooo much more tasty....its true that different protein sources give different amounts of different amino acids but in my opinion it is all relevant

Shakes are ok but as Jugget said you wont be getting aminos and other nutrients that all help your body absorb and use up the protein. Also why are you having a shake before and after your workout? Your body can only digest so much at once and I may be wrong but Im guessing that 40g-1hour-40g is going to yield little more than lots of farting and protein turds. Protein wont help you work out it helps your body build muscle after you break it down working out so keep your post shake but re-consider the pre-shake IMO

Nothing wrong with the protein IMO; what's wrong is your veggies- or lack of it. That's a pretty bland diet for cutting to me Not to mention that a leetle more variety is good for the soul..unless you do well in the same routine , which honestly some of us do.

protein is protein. i see nothing wrong with it. if they dont fill you up I'd buy a bucket of mass gainer and throw in a couple of scoops. thats what I do and my shakes are ~400 calories, 45 grams of protien which fill me up pretty well

I get three of my meals from shakes and oats. Hasn't stopped me yet. You can only cook and eat so much. If we all had all the time in the world to cook, eat and workout then we wouldn't need shakes. Most of us have school and work.

Jack In The Box's southwest chicken pita. I had one today and it was damn good. Chicken, black beans, corn, lettuce in a pita. 260 cals, 20g protein, and fiber as well. Only problem is the price: $3.50/per. Two would make a nice meal, but not for $8. Still though, it tasted great.

They're pretty good for a late night snack at the local 24 hour JITB.

FYI, at Carl's Jr. you can order a plain chicken breast patty for about $2 (I think it comes out to be something like $2.34 with tax), and it's a pretty big piece of meat too... I don't know about how many grams of protein... but I'm pretty sure it's a lot more than 20g. it's NOT written on any menus... you just have to ask for it, they usually know where it is on the register's key pad... but you have to make sure they understand it's just a plain piece of chicken patty, and NOT the chicken sandwich veggie wrap... cause then, they'll charge you the price of a regular chicken sandwich... which I believe is almost $4!! I know it's kinda plain... but I usually order'em if I'm going low carbs and I didn't have time to cook the night before.

Well, i was thinking, what does everyone put on all there food, like condiments and such?? I use ketchup and chipotle tabasco, on almost everything, and some sweet baby ray's barbecue sauce..

I'm obviously not vettedude, but I actually spent most of this afternoon calling around at scrap yards and steel distr/warehouses to see how cheap I could find the materials for. The first place I called wanted 63 dollars for just the 1/4x21x24 plate of steel, so I was like fuck that and called probably 20 more places. The highest price I was quoted for just the plate was 90 fucking dollars... but I finally got ahold of somebody in the area that had a 50 dollar minimum sale rule and he said he would just do it for 50 dollars... He said for what I would be using it for Hot-rolled low-carbon steel would be fine and it would be 37 lbs (some people were quoting me 90 cents a lb for the steel so I figure I had a 20 or so dollar leeway before I actually hit 50. After getting off the phone I decided to call him back and order up 15 inches of 2" piping, the wall thickness I chose was about 1/4 inch (figured I could always fill it with something to strengthen it if it was weak). He never got bac to me on pricing of that because they didnt stock it but I figure 50 to 60 dollars total for parts... have somebody from school weld it for me and either find somebody to bend it for near free or cut the 3 inches and have it welded at an angle. I should have all the materials and everything put together by next weekend. ibholyfuckinglongpost edit: I'm going to call him up tomorrow and see if he found out pricing on the pipe and have him put the order in.

awesome, u should have bought 1.5" ID tubing, that stuff is right at 2" od, and people normally carry it in stock. I waslucky, and had a few options open for building my sled, my pops is in the industrial sector of town, and knows alot of people around here, so he was just gonna get one of his friends to give me the crap, but i was like what the hell is the fun in that, Shit is way ebtter when u build it with ur own two hands. But as far as sled work goes, it has gone great, i need to go get another plate for dragging, cause i can do two plates + the sled [pretty easilly, and i can stand straight up while doing it, i dunno if the way o have my rope configured is making this easier or not, but regaurdless, i am gonna need mopre plates for the home gym in the future anyway.

Today was the first day starting my routine for summer to bulk up. Throughout the course of the day I ate 6 sloppy joes, 3 pieces of pizza, 4 eggs, 2 protein shakes and a lot more too. I've never eaten this much Anyway, my moms going to the store tomorrow and I need ideas for really good munchie foods (with minimal preparation) that I can eat whenever I'm hungry. I'd prefer to stay away from full out cooking meals (ie. steaks) but minimal cooking is ok. So far I have -eggs -protein shakes -tuna
