When a new L.A Fitness goes up, how long do they run their 'specials' for? I went and talked to the guy today (3/31) and he said it was the last day they would be running it. I told him all gyms usually run more specials and that this is their way to get ppl to sign up. He said not them, because their a 'corporation.' I gave him the Im just wondering if anyone here goes to LA Fitness, how much did you pay when you signed up? The guy quoted me $35, which is pretty good, but than said it was going to go up to like $45. If thats the case, and hes not just trying to get me 2 join, i will gladly stay at my ghetto ass gym full of geriatrics and pay my $25 a month.

just got mine in the mail. reviews in a few i got morning mix with cherry berry & nighttime mix with orange cream & a green apple bsl flavoring for misc protein i have. if anyone wants to buy a pretty much new 5lb container of ON whey, lemme know. there's atleast 4.5lbs left.

i think i watered it down too much. doesn't taste bad though. no aftertaste.

Hmm, I've been thinking of giving this a try. Could just get a bunch of the no-flavor protein and some flavors, then if I hate the flavors at least they're cheaper to buy again than the powder.

I will never order from them again and I haven't even received my order yet. I placed an order, emailed them 3 times and I didn't receive one response back. I needed to change the shipping address and it was shipped out anyway

and i'm getting really concerned about her health. she doesnt exercise much, and spends too much time watching TV. she eats a lot of junk and snack food too. wot can i do to help? words dont seem to do much.. i can see her being obese if she carries on this way. by the way she's 5'6.

If you can get her to the gym with you, then yeah have her do any kind of aerobic activities regularly. If you can pull her away from the tv for an hour a day she'll be fine. Go for bike rides with her, I was a bike riding freak growing up. You get tons of exercise and don't even realize it. I could ride for hours and hours and not even know it.

5'6" and 145lbs... She's not that overweight I don't think, she has some things men do not have (butt and boobs)...

Take a walk with her every once and a while or play a game that she likes to play. Telling her what to do and not to do wont help. You have to show her through things that she enjoys. But just get her outside and doin stuff. As for her diet, you have to get that junk food out of the house, ill assume taht your parents are overweight as well so that might be hard. But thats really gonna be the key to her bein healthy. Its great that you are concerned about her! There are to many people who just pass off obesity as being ok, especially in children, that can be devastating.

Da Hell's Oracle 5'6" and 145lbs... She's not that overweight I don't think, she has some things men do not have (butt and boobs)... She's 155, and yeah, that is pretty porky. My little sister (15) is 5'8 and about 110-115. That's pretty thin, but my girlfriend is 5'5 and 128, and would like to lose a few.

i think if she doesnt wanna exercise you'll just have to chase her around with a knife to make her run, and dont stop until she starts to sweat. After a while she'll just start running without any negative encouragement needed.

My GF is 5'6" and 113. At 155, she'd look pretty fat. My suggestion would be to try and get her interested in sports or other activities that will get her more active. Unlike boys, girls tend to not lose their "baby fat" when they hit high school. So you're right to be concerned for her now. Good luck.

you cant tell a 12 year old shit about dieting. basically its your parents fault for putting shit food in the house. wanna know my suggestion? accept it. shes going to get fatter and you're right, she'll eventually be obese and it'll probably be right around freshman year in HS. theres nothing you can do about it because if you nag her to get her to exercise and eat right she'll just get pissed at you. what your parents need to do is lay down some fucking guidelines and buy good food. allow 1 hour of TV per day, she chooses the hour and this must be very restricted, same should go for computer. or she can choose between computer/tv. she must limit her calories and start exercising 4 - 5 times per week. i think if your parents cared at all about hers and their own diets theyd stop buying shitty food but its obvious they dont, so theres nothing you can do but just accept it and live your own life

just read this on bb.com...this is exactly what happened to me I also ditched it right into the trash can!! I tookd 2 pills, as I'm usually pretty good with stimulants...2 hours later I felt horrible!!!...I felt like I had the flu...I was dizzy, sweating, shaking, and had the worst muscleaches...It's finally starting to tone down now after about 4 hours...but I had to leave work, I couldn't barely stand up...man, no more spike for me...I'll stick to my beloved neurostim! __________________

I probably could find this in another thread but I felt like making one. The protien shakes I have been using are Soy protien. I've heard vague "bad stuff" about whey but never any substantiation or even specific bad things. What are the different benefits of different kinds of protien shakes? I see everyone on here is nuts about whey. How come?

How come? soy protein isnt so much bad as it isnt as good as whey, whey is an animal protein. plant proteins are incomplete and dont give you all the essential amino acids necessary for muscle growth. one shouldnt live off plant protein alone, that is why we are omnivores. it will help suplement but definitely dont just eat beans or soy protein shakes if you want to make real gains. thats why vegetarians are such vagina McGinasteins

ok I read that other thread. so how about this, what's a good whey shake that doesn't have a bunch of other crazy additives/suppliments in it? I can't take stuff like stimulants, and I'm trying to stay away from too many synthesized chemicals in my suppliments (part of my MS diet). I like the soy shakes that I do because they are soy and spirulina, just protien and nutrition.

just drink the whey shake, maybe add some natty stuff, fruits, pb, milk

no, I eat a complete diet. I just like to add a scoop of protien to my smoothies. I'm also not building for true broly status, just strength and performance (for martial arts).

Damn I was huge(FAT). I went form 240 to 180, from there I hovered around 185-190 for a while. I've been bulking and I'm at 200 right now. I decided I'm at a good size so I'm going to try and get to about 8-10% bf @ 190. I would try and get larger but with my future career ahead of me, I'm not going to be able to maintain a large size. This was me, about is July 2002 - 240 lbs and this is me recently at 185lbs This is me now at 200lbs, cold yes yes, the angle is odd on the last one. Its not that flattering taking a front shot Maybe I'll post again when I get to around 10% bf Now-a-days I workout 5-6 times a week. Couple weeks ago did a 7 mile run. I've gone through military training, I have a new girlfriend/fiancee. Sure beats sitting around eating cheezits and moutain dew all day. in other news, I put up 100lb DB's on incline today for the first time, 8 times

I do decline just as much as flat and incline, with similar weight. what else can I do besides decline press and decline butterfly to target my lower pecs? Even when I was 180 I still had gyno type fat. My chest really is my strong point, in person at least.

You need to tailor fit the rep scheme to the exercise and fit it with the rep schemes of other exercises that work the same group. For example if one week I do 8,6,4,4,2 on flat bb bench then I will usually do something like 3x6-8 on db incline bench and 3x8-10 for flies. EDIT: Oh and if you are 122, you DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, ever need to do cardio. In fact anytime the thought pops into your mind go to your kitchen, get a plate, pile as much food as humanly possible on that plate, and sit there until you eat it all.

Compound movements (ie. bench, squat, DL, rows) are usually done in the lower rep range although it is important to vary the reps to get a wide variety and increase strength and hypertrophy. Accessory movements (ie. flies, curls) are usually done in a slightly higher rep range.
