I hate chiropractors. After 5 - 6 treatments of A.R.T -- I feel ripped off. He didn't even understand what I was saying, and he just treated me the way he thought was correct. I don't want to lose hope in A.R.T because my shoulder is just killing me. Anyone else have a bad experience with A.R.T? For now, i'm blaming the lack of skillz of my chiropractor... /vent

I have been suffering from Plantar Fasciitis for just over 3 years now, and have tried everything aside from surgery (Physio, Night Splints, Orthotics, etc) and the only thing I feel that has truley benefited me has been constant stretching and ART. It also helps to have the leading practioner in the Country work on you. If you found the doctor(?) that was working on you to not listen or benefitting you at all that should of been the first sign to swtich to another clinic. Dont give up on it yet, if at all possible swtich to another clinic, and before the doctor (?) even starts tell him what exactly it is you want, what hurts, and what the other guy obviously didnt help you with. A Myotherapist treats the "hot spots" or muscles that pull you out of alignment. Combination therapy between the two is excellent.

christophers find a new art guy. find a new chiro too. chiros, art specialists, etc. are like EVERY medical type profession.. you'll find ones good and ones bad a good chiro is great, and a good art guy is great too. my gym has our own chiro and art guy and he rocks. Free of charge?

Fitday is telling me that yesterday I burned 3297 calories broken down as follows: Basal: 1769 Lifestyle: 1086 Activities: 442 I have "seated work, some movement" as my 9-5 job routine. Does 3297 burned sound a bit excessive? Considering I worked out for an hour and walked 20 mins to and from work, and that only burned 442??

The gym was packed last night. I'm getting set up to do shoulder presses and notice a couple of gentlemen of dark pigment are looking for a DB to complete a set- even though they already have the only other existing set of that weight (80 lb). They find the weight over by some light-pigmented fellows and ask in a very vague way if anyone is using it. Apparently the guy that was using it ran to the fountain for a quick drink between sets. Even though noone claims to be using the DB, the dark gent walks away from the DB and starts talking to his friend loudly. The light fellow comes back and goes to do another set. The dark gent apparently gets upset that someone has claimed the DB and starts asking VERY LOUDLY if the light fellow is using the DB. The light guy says that he WAS using it, but would be willing to let the dark fellow have it if he'd like. This answer wasnt good enough and the dark gentleman is walking closer and closer to the light fellow, getting louder. Still asking if he's done with it but now just being very rude and condescending about it. The 2 go back and forth with the light gent offering it to him and the dark fellow not being happy about the offer but wanting the DB all the same. Finally the dark gent backs down and walks back to his friend talking loudly about how "dis be bullshit" and other colorful phrases to make certain that everyone knows how he felt about the situation. The unhappy couple then took turns with the set of DBs they already had. I just made the face the entire time, since they were disrupting everyones workout, and grumbled about having to wait for the pussyhurts to get the sand out of their vaginas. Later, i saw 2 girls "working out" that looked like they had taken a break from standing on the corner. They had on SO much makeup and were dressed in just sweats and a tee, but had the tee tied in the back and hitched way up, and the sweats pulled way down to expose their fat asscracks WTF happened to my gym last night? it was like Ghetto Night at 24 Hour Fitness.

There can be 100+ people in this gym at any given time sometimes too. They range from tiny men/women to huge roided out dudes and everyone is always nice. I mean stuck up bitches and frat dudes are even nice. Although not too social with me but they are still nice.

Okay, I know that I am going to change my diet quite a bit. However, I have another dilemma: I think I work out too much. My symptoms: I am sore as ol hell all the time and tired all the time. So I think it is obvious that my muscles just can't take it and I am losing muscle. What should I do? I would like to work out everyday but I guess I should up my calorie intake? If you're burning that many damn calories (which is more than you even eat) then you're not even leaving any calories for your daily metabolic processes (just walking around you burn calories, too). That is probably the reason you feel like shit.

It isn't really a new routine, it is more of a new meal plan that I have got, and I am now reevaluating it because I don't feel good at all. Anyways, I do a lot of running and stuff. Here is how I burn the calories:

So you spend 1:25 running at various speeds, 2 hours 'working out, and a half hour stretching? I'd say if you were in good enough physical condition to do this, then you shouldn't be sore, and you wouldn't be able to metabolically function with 1700 calories. Nonetheless, this is required:

diet and sleep should be the most important things to you right now...without proper nutrition and recovery time everything you do is counterproductive, and worthless.

you seem likethis guy i saw at the gym today...he was running on the treadmill when i got there...i warmed up...lifted weights(45-60mins) and only after i was done lifting weights did he stop running. he then went over to the mats and stretched. then did like an assload of various types of crunches...... now does anyone know what this guy looks like? me in 6th grade. no fucking shit. he was little as hell and looked severely malnourished. i think i saw a couple of the PL's add another couple of weights onto their bars when they saw this guy in hopes that they would never look that girly

Set up a routine....different muscle groups with different days of the week, allowing time for each muscle group to recover before working it. Stop with the push ups and sit ups, if your going to do 20 each, its not worth it.... now 100 reps of 3 sets...that might be worth it...

i believe him on the 40 min run at 9.5 mile pace, we used to do 45 minutes 6 mile runs (about the same pace) but hell... that WAS our workout in cross country. no 2 hour workout past that. and about the 2 hour workout... sounds like you do a 30 minute workout.... and then an hour 30 of abs... the reason you're tired and feel like shit and your muscles are sore and tense and such? it's called over training. you need to recognize it. take a day off, get good big meals. you can have fat on you and still have a 6 pack you know.. and hell. if you bulk up to 165 or 180 or whatever the hell ur target goal is, you can always go back to your caloric deficit anorexic diet and work out and keep the muscle but burn the fat.

dexterium this is an example of something i've been wondering lately. even though he's eating enough to not usually be on starvation calories, because of all the cals he's burning, does that put him in starvation mode and make it harder to lose fat?
