While on this fasting do i still do cardio? Ill probably still do weight training. Im probably going to try this fast for around 2-3 weeks to see how it goes.

Besides, as Chris said, the deficit is so great that another 200 calories isn't really going to do shit. 2. probably do some weight training? No. You NEED to be doing some maintenance training if you want to keep as much lbm as possible.

Played a full game today of intramural...I haven't played in a few months, but it was the best cardio I've done for a while. The most important part of cardio is having fun. Running, swimming, elliptical, rowing, just don't do it for me

i agree. are you playing road hockey or like shinny? i love hockey and play alot during the year. I have 2 games a week and it is good cardio for sure. High intensity, and alot of fun. i always get off the ice drenched in sweat i have a passion for the sport i just love stepping onto the rink and dropping the shoulder into a few guys... ugh this is making me want to play

i have 2 hockey classes this semester and i'm also gonna be playing a lot of roller hockey during the summer...hockey is definitely badass

yeah. i had a game tonite. its the only sport i play other than raquetball.

Its pretty much the only physical activity that I enjoy. My season ended 3 weeks ago and I'm starting to go insane from missing it.

roller hockey is my cardio. it rules. a couple games a week. i would do ice, but its kinda hard down South.

whatever sport you like is best. basketball is my cardio twice a week, i force myself to do elliptical for 20 minutes two other days just so i dont burn out from all the ball while im cutting since its more intense than anything else the way i play(imagine ron artest on defense with rip hamilton on offense, not that good but thats how i play, always in someones face and always moving/cutting/setting screens).

we were at ruby tuesdays and this girl says she wants the salad because "its too late for the carbs in pasta; i dont want to get gain fat" do people store calories differently depending on when you eat them? ex: if i eat dinner at 8pm and my friend eats at 11pm every night and we both go to sleep at 11:30pm, is he going to gain more fat? i argued that it didnt matter but i really didnt have any science to back it up, and it was interesting that i didnt know so i just argued what i thought...so whats the deal?

Meh. It's not going to make a huge difference unless you're binging before bed, which is what a lot of people do. People who lose weight by not eating before bed, lose because they are generally the type to starve all day and pig out at night; therefore when they set a limit, they lose weight because they are cutting back on calories.

So even if you did store more of those calories eaten at night, your body would be mobilizing more stored fuel earlier in the day when you were eating less. End result: no difference. As a side note, one study of dieting and exercising women found that eating more calories at night caused less muscle loss, but no difference in fat loss. Presumably more nutrients were available during the night to avoid muscle breakdown. The women who ate more in the morning did lose more total weight, but the entire difference was because they lost more muscle. Basically, the old bodybuilder idea that you should eat fewer calories at night appears to be counterproductive to keeping muscle on a diet. What really matters in the big scheme of things for weight and fat loss is total calories in versus total calories out. But assuming you eat the same number of calories, whether you eat more of them earlier in the day, or more of them later in the day, it doesn't seem to matter. In fact, eating a larger meal at dinner (or a small bedtime snack) may spare more muscle. SteveO I can't do that pose right, been working on it old pic of a pose I can do halfway decent Even so though, from the front, on that first pic, they don't look as developed as some other parts of your body. Its probably less that your lats arent huge while the rest of you is. Youre still looking pretty damn decent all around though.

Biggest improvement are the arms, no doubt about it. Any leg pics?

I was doing military press on the smith machine today. I'm 10 seconds into a rest between sets. two relative gym noobs come over, take two plates off my bar. I'm sitting at the machine. There are spare weights on the side of the machine, but they were 3 feet away and toward the ground. The bar on the smith press was about 5 1/2 feet in the air. I was in shock when they took them, like "what the hell just happened?" my reaction went like this: : they were totally oblivious as to what they did. the room was pretty crowded so I didn't feel like making a scene, I just grabbed some other weights and put them on. But, WTF!?

last weekend i was using the cable curls and some old man came and started using it when i was about 4 feet away...i told him i am using it and eh goes"what do you own this place" pissed me off so i told him not be a fucking dick about it and just use gym courtest and when u see shit laying next to it to ask how many more sets or if u mind working in...he changed my weight and bar height and did not move it back..saw him in their this morning and we exchanged looks...no he is not big just older and not knowing what he is doing..i watched him and he did 1 set of about everything as fast as he could

I basically need between 4500 and 5000 calories per day to gain weight. I don't want to be eating like 5 meals a day. What would be the easiest way of eating that many calories??? is there some kind of shake I can make myself to eat a bunch of calories?? thanks

man you are lucky.. i get fat on 2500 even if i exercise. eat some very high caloric foods.. nut butters etc. and im sure there are some really high cal weight gainers.

Muscle Milk Protein Shakes have quite a bit of calories in them. 2 scoops Muscle milk + 2 cups of milk + 2 bananas + lots of oats + 2 scoops of ice cream = win (maybe not the ice cream?)

Comes out to about 1400 calories. 2800 with two shakes Assuming you eat breakfast, a mid-day meal, and something before you go to bed, that's 4500 cals easy.

I use peanut butter, graham crackers, bananas, granola bars, whatever is around that i think might taste good. If you want to keep it around 1400 cals each, use less of the oil and try some PB instead, that should help with the taste.

Of course it doesn't taste great, but you get accustomed to it.. Then again, I don't mind the taste of plain oats at all. The way I do it: Pour it into a glass 4 cup measuring cup thing (mine comes out to a little under 3 cups, IIRC) Take a good breath, and start chugging I run out of breath about 3/4 of the way through. Don't breath through your nose at all the entire time, breath through your mouth. That way you won't taste it. Chug the remaining 1/4, then rinse all your shit out. You can either chase it with some OJ, or be a man and savor the bitter, oily aftertaste
