Shouldnt I be able to squat more than bench?


I am 5'3" 123 pounds Bench is at 165 And today, first time doing squats, I did 135 x 7....Maybe I coulda put on more but I was alone with no spotter. Being that I repped it 7 times I'm pretty confident I can do three with more weight, but still.... How far away is your guys' squat then bench.

You should squat and deadlift a LOT more than you can bench, unless you have freakishly short arms and insanely long legs.

Ah, like I said, it was the first time I did real squats. I usually do them on the machine because I'm a fucking wussy But, godamm I loved it. Squats are like nothing else, total rush thru the body. My legs felt awesome going up. Oh, and I've only been working out since November. christophers - i squat 300+ lb's more than i bench. when you first start squatting, it may seem like you are doing close to your max when you arent really. it will probly shoot up within a month as you learn to do the lift better and will suceed your bench.

I can only squat about 40 lbs more than I bench, but I haven't maxed squat in a while and my heavy triples are increasing dramatically faster than my bench.

How far away is your guys' squat then bench. 165 bench is pretty good at your body weight, but your squat will increase pretty quickly. I'd imagine you'll max out around 205-215.

I pretty much eat as much as possible. thats one thing i learned from OT FN when it comes to bulking. 6:30 am, morning - eggs, bacon, toast, 2scoop nitrotech, 2pill thermo gain 1:00 pm, lunch- burgers or fish or well portioned frozen dinner, 2scoop nitrotech, 2pill thermo gain 5:00 pm, dinner- mostly alot of my momma's home cook'n (what ever it may be, just not fried). 8:00 pm, evening- burgers or well portioned frozen dinner 10:30 pm- sleep (during week) as i type this im eating a chicken pot pie

So like one day id do like high rep squats for legs and the next day id do high rep deads for legs..kinda like opposing groups for the same body part. I just did that for the bigger groups however. Like for back first day id do a pulldown motion and the next a row of some kind. That way things got rotated and I didnt die

christophers when you post things on a messageboard you subject yourself to peoples opinions. this is not going to change. people are only being honest with you, like it or not. hoewver your diet is poor anyway. too low protein. like i said, i didn't even try today..apart from the protein shake. I'm thinking I will be doing a high protein, low carb, low fat for cutting. Shake in the morning, tuna sandwich at lunch, grilled chicken dinner, shake before bed. Little snacks in between.
