When did you start buying new clothes?

When did you start buying new clothes?

My current clothes still somewhat fit, but some(my pants and some jeans) I have to keep pulling up every once in a while. So I'm like a full or 1/2 size less than what I usually wear. I'm going to measure this weekend. So for people who've lost weight when did you start buying new stuff? Like 2 to 3 sizes difference or when you just couldn't keep your pants up on their own and they started looking extremely bad even with a belt?

how long have you been dieting?

My bulking has made pretty much all of my pants un-wearable. It's pretty annoying. Wish I weren't so poor.

When i was around 180ish i was in the middle of Medium and Large. So i bought a lot of large clothes when i exploded to 210. Now I'm back to 190 and all the L clothes i bought i put away in a box. I'm currently losing fat right now as well so my jeans are getting a little big i hate buying new clothes!

nic379 how long have you been dieting? I don't really call it dieting. I've changed my way of eating (or diet) for the better and have been exercising more seriously since Feb.

Was it gradual or all of a sudden?

as soon as you can see my nipples through my shirt

Girl_Next_Door I don't really call it dieting. I've changed my way of eating (or diet) for the better and have been exercising more seriously since Feb. I'm glad you've changed your diet and are being health concious! i have PLENTY of clothes to wear once i start losing weight. I use to be a skinny skinny girl, i still have all the clothes.

I went from a size 40 waist down to a 36, and from XL to XXL in shirts I've held off on buying shirts b/c I don't mind them tight. But the pants, I feel like I am swimmng in them. So I think I need to do some shopping this weekend

Went from a 40-42 to a 36 (would wear 34s but can't find pants that will fit my big legs comfortably). Just bought new clothes when I hit like 215 (from 255). I am at 197 now and want to get down to 180 if not lower so i anticipate buying new clothes come mid summer if not earlier as my 36's are getting a bit loose already. Ugh! I hate buying clothes cause I am short and that means I have to get all of my damn pants hemmed. On another note my shoe size went from a 13-11.5 (fat feet = buy larger shoes).

My waste hasn't changed that much, I used to wear a 38 and now usually wear a 36 (I like alot of room in the waste). I can still wear the same shirts, they are just aloooooottt tighter.

Well, my shoe size will not change. I don't have fat feet they're actually pretty narrow/slim

Yeah i used to buy larger shoes cause my feet were fat/wide but now a days I fit into 11.5's fine. Its weird when EVERYTHING is a different size now. Great for keeping motivated though.

about 3 months after i changed my diet and started working out. went from a size 46 in pants to 38/40, and from xxl to xl in shirts. kinda sucks when you have to keep buying new clothes but i dont mind it if they are smaller, and not have to shop at the big and tall store.

i buy new clothes all the time

Ceaze i buy new clothes all the time do you fluctuate in weight/inches a lot?

When i lost my 100 lbs, i contantly bought new clothes, and gave me other ones to charity

I just bought two new pair of jeans, new undershirts, new boxers, and new gym shorts. I outgrew my old clothes. All I buy now shirt-wise is XL...it's so nice to have clothes that fit again.

Girl_Next_Door do you fluctuate in weight/inches a lot? no i just like new clothes

Ceaze no i just like new clothes I always pictured as you walking around everywhere topless. Class, gym, restaurants, family gatherings, etc.

Werdna I always pictured as you walking around everywhere topless. Class, gym, restaurants, family gatherings, etc.

Werdna I always pictured as you walking around everywhere topless. Class, gym, restaurants, family gatherings, etc. only at the pool brotha...i don't even wear tank tops anymore

I buy a couple shirts every once in a while. My pants are horrible though. They are soooo fucking huge on me, but I still wear them. I'd get new ones in Japan, but they have retarded sizes. 28-33 or 30-34. Shit like that. Skinny fuck Japanese guys. :-x

im filling my clothes a lot better now, but i still need some more clothes.

I just gave away 2/3 of my clothing to charity, and some sold on ebay. I was gonna buy more clothes, but I'm gonna wait until I finish cutting. It feels good to give them away because they don't fit anymore.

When did you start buying new clothes?

whats a good mp3 player for training

whats a good mp3 player for training

ive been looking around a good mp3 player for running and lifting so whats a good one that is reliable hows the phillips nike one also about how many songs could i fit onto a 256mb one and or a 128 mb one

I like the RCA ones myself. Best overall size / cost / durability. http://search.ebay.com/RCA-RD1000 around $20 add a 128mb card for a total of 160mb and you are set http://search.ebay.com/128mb%20mmc around $30 TOTAL PRICE around $50

I got the RCA RD1071A from the mart of walls and I couldn't be happier. I think it holds like 128mb? It was only 80 bucks.

i have an ipod and i love it for weight training...you can get an armband and everything...the ipod mini is even better but i wanted more songs

i use an iRiver flash mp3 player that has 256mb and holds roughly 50+ songs. it uses 1 AA battery that lasts around 20 hours and comes with an armband. the player is very light and weighs less than the battery itself. it costed me a $150 about a month ago. for weight training and running, you want to get a flash mp3 player. flash players are more expensive and holds less songs but they have no moving parts. if you were to use an ipod or any hard drive based mp3 player, you can easily damage your investment as there are many moving parts and mechanisms that get jostled around during cardio and weight training.

i have the nike one...works great for me

anything small with a clip or holder works fine just run the cord under your shirt and strap it to your pants/shorts

sexual tennis i use an iRiver flash mp3 player that has 256mb and holds roughly 50+ songs. it uses 1 AA battery that lasts around 20 hours and comes with an armband. the player is very light and weighs less than the battery itself. it costed me a $150 about a month ago. for weight training and running, you want to get a flash mp3 player. flash players are more expensive and holds less songs but they have no moving parts. if you were to use an ipod or any hard drive based mp3 player, you can easily damage your investment as there are many moving parts and mechanisms that get jostled around during cardio and weight training. i just picked up an iriver flash player after my samsung yep broke it's been great so far. and yeah i second the not getting a hard drive based player if you are going to do a lot of running or something where it will get pounded. but if you are going to stick with an eliptical, stairclimber or bicycle, it should be fine.

got the RCA RD1080. works great for me

PANASONIC SV-SD80 is what I use.. best mp3 player EVER!! THE new version is SV-SD85 I think. SUPER tiny.. nice nice tiny case that I just clip onto my shorts. good sound Edit: The rechargble battery lasts like 18 hours or so. If you use rechargable plus AA battery it will last ~50 hours I think It's about 1.2" x 1.2" x .5"

www.iriver.com . They are very compact, and mine has been durable....

samsung yepp yp-30sh

I have the rio cali 128. Also has a fm tuner in it. At the place where I lift all the TVs are hooked up on fm reception so I if I am on a Sunday I can listen to the Nascar race or listen to football games in the fall time without having to run and check all the time. The only problem I have is the earplugs are horrible. I had another nice pair that I have been using.

I have the Nike Phillips 128mb one, got it two years ago for christmas. Once you ditch the gay armband and replace the headphones, it's great. The unit itself is awesome, small and very durable. Battery life is great. FWIW, I *LOVE* these headphones: http://www.spysupply007.com/Headphon...nes/HS_303.jpg They're less than $10, and they're the only thing that I've used that'll stay in no matter what I'm doing.

I have the new rca mp4.. 20gb.. i love it.. holds videos photos.. music and programs... Would recomend... but the price outragous... 400$

i use the nike one, its a black circle and comes with a arm band that barely fits my arm anymore

i got a mpio when my nike kept dying, i'm happy with the sound..& it's real tiny.

IPod shuffle

willg133 i have an ipod and i love it for weight training...you can get an armband and everything...the ipod mini is even better but i wanted more songs where did you get your armband?

knucks where did you get your armband? I picked mine up at best buy, when I bought my mini its nice, it doesnt move much when you are running as it is locked in place pretty well.

Creative Muvo N200 1gb or Sandisk 1gb

I use a phillips one that I picked up at Wal-Mart for $80. Reads mem cards and uses AAA batteries. Perfect for the gym.

Sandisk = win.

id probably go ipod shuffle now if i had to get a new one. Regular Ipod's are ok if you are just doing strickly weights you can just put a playlist on it but its not good for running or anything. It will eventually fuck up the disk and after the 25 minute buffer it starts skipping and bad

kinda strange question, but are any mp3 players water proof, or is there a way to put them in a water proof container? i want one to go work out and go sailing also

whats a good mp3 player for training

F&N Dudes.. Is My Protein Drink Any Good?

F&N Dudes.. Is My Protein Drink Any Good?

Hiya all.. I've bought some whey protein power.. which I assimilate into semi-skimmed milk (low fat) to make a protein drink. Pictures below.. basically I just want to know whether this stuff is decent or not. 100g of powder contains 75.5g of protein. I take 44-66g of powder (30-50g of protein) in each drink I make, plus 10-15g of protein from the 250-375 ml of milk, once a day. So my total protein from the shake varies beteen 40g and 65g. Is it ok just to drink once, with lots of powder? or would it be better to take 2 smaller quantities at different times of the day? Am i getting too much of the protein from whey? Does it matter? I weight 170lbs so need 170g of protein daily..

yes its fine. I just finished that very brand.

Filmboy44 yes its fine. I just finished that very brand. How much did it cost u? I know things are different between the UK and the USA, but I payed the equivelent of $19 USD. It was on a half price sale.

Job change: may not have the opp. to go to a gym now...

I go to the gym to maintain my weight... not to get muscular, but just not to get fat. I am considering cancelling going to the gym all together because I do not think I will have time and/or opportunity to go to the gym once I start. Do you feel that I will stay in shape as much if I do workout videos? For instance, I like the Comcast On Demand videos a lot. I am wondering if going TO a gym will make a difference or if I can stay in just as much shape doing videos. Thanks

What do you currently do when you go the gym?

If you just go to "not be fat", doing bodyweight training and cardio at home with a good diet would probably be sufficient. Not as good as going to the gym though.

Just buy a stairstepper or a treadmill for your house/apartment.

If general fitness and weight management are your interests, there is plenty of shit you can do outside of a gym. Cardio stuff is obvious (walk, jog, bike or get an elliptical, treadmill, etc...). For strength training, look for a book called "The Naked Warrior" by Pavel Tsatsouline... strength training concepts, routines, and exercises using bodyweight and a minimal amount of equipment.

There is *always* time to go to the gym, imo. I've never stopped going, not even during my working two jobs, 14 hours a day phase that lasted a year. If you really want to, you'll find the time somehow..and of course there's the other options people have put forth about in-home stuff.

I agree, but I am also thinking that it would be extra nice to save myself the money as well, because I am SEVERELY lacking in funds... to answer NickStam, I use the treadmill/stairmaster/some yellow cardio machine for a little while, and then I use the machine weights for abs, legs and arms... I dont do a whole hell of a lot at the gym, i spend a max. of about 45 mins there... thats why Im thinking it may be an equally as effective/cheaper way to keep myself in shape ... but im not really sure, so thats why Im asking you guys

If you shop, you can probably find used weights somewhere for even cheaper. And running/walking outside is free

freeskiwp yeah, what he said.

jonno *chuckles* It's cool, I'd rather be thought a guy half the time here anyways I just do find it funny because to me, Elfling is not a very manly name.

Elfling Then you're probably right You can get a decent dumbbell set at Modell's or whatever for >200 bucks. If you shop, you can probably find used weights somewhere for even cheaper. And running/walking outside is free sounds good... at least I know if I DO make the decision to drop the gym and just do videos and stuff on my own, it wont make a huge difference from what I do at the gym

spending money on a gym, might be more motivation for you to go...

im sorry elfling .im retarded

MikeTheVike1 spending money on a gym, might be more motivation for you to go... thats what I thought, and it worked for about 6 mos, but since the payment for the gym isnt making a HUGE dent in my budget, Ive realized that I just kinda "figure" my way out of the payment now.... I consider it less out of my paycheck now rather than less out of my take-home, if that makes any sense... I I guess Im just looking for words of encouragement as far as dropping the gym and doing it on my own... I almost have my mind made up, but Im looking for someone to tell me its a GREAT idea or HORRIBLE idea, based on the facts ive given

Pushups, Hindu squats, upsidedown pushups, there is always an option.

I don't know about everyone else, but paying for a gym motivates me to go. I spend xx amount of dollars a month for equipment that I'd better be using. If I didn't spend a dime, I'd probably be sitting home doing pushups and situps thinking I'd get massive. But the fact that I pay motivates me. I think if you can, just try to continue going to a gym w/ a (paid?) membership so that you'd have a reason to go out. Plus, while you're there you get to have a certain mentality that you might not be able to achieve at home. If you're not looking at that route, I think that motivation would be key in terms of working out several times a week. So maybe get a buddy to run with you or something...I don't know. I'm kind of rambling.

I think allot of it depends on how you get motivated. About 3 years ago I prepaid a gym membership and could never get motivated to go. As a result I never really made any progress and fatened up. I also let the membership lapse after it expired. I finally decided to do something about being out of shape and bought a bench/squat rack and dug out my old free weights. I started working out again on April 1st and have been hugely motivated so far. I'm doing the dreaded cardio by taking my boxer on bikerides 3-4 times a week and lifting 3 nights a week. I've dropped 18 pounds (mostly water i'm sure) so far and I swear I feel stronger. I screwed up and dropped a grip on my gym membership and never used it. I spent $200 on a decent home bench and use it all the time. I even look forward to using it. Food for thought anyway.
