need advice.. i've hit a plateau


hey guys, been working out for a while now and i've suddenly hit a plateau. i'm 5'9" and 135lbs. i'm putting up 205lbs on the bench and have been stuck here for a good 6 months. i'm taking the whey protien shakes from fitrx.com but i'm still stuck here. any tips to increase the weight? i go to the gym 3 nights a week and work out another 2 nights at home. i usually just mess around with the 45lbs weights i have, nothing big. i would like to get my bench up to at least 250-275. thanks. -mike

I got here in front of me some Instant-Oatmeal Packets from Quaker Regular Oatmeal "With 100% Whole Grain Quaker Oats" "No Sugar Added" and in the ingredients, it has: WHole Grain Rolled Oats (With Oat bran), Modified Milk Ingredients, Salt, Guar Gum, Calcium Carbonate. I am wondering if this is the same oatmeal as the "Old Fashioned Oatmeal" described in the "Diets (The Second Course)" and which one is better? Also, how should I be making my oatmeal? With water in the microwave or milk in the microwave?

i don't know for sure, but you may be alright. You'd have to compare the ingrediants section on both. But to me, as long as you dont get anything with the added flavors and stuff, you'll be alright. Correct me if i'm wrong.

1 cup Quaker 'quick oats', pinch of salt, brown suger, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup milk or soy milk. Microwave for 3:30 minutes, let cool for 5 minutes.

If I were you'd I'd just buy a big tub of rolled oats. Pretty much the same stuff, and a ton cheaper. I add a cup of oats to my shakes.

Its a little different than the old fashioned ones. Taste wise, and plus its chopped up more so the GI is a little higher. But its no big deal IMO.

How can i accurately measure my body fat percentage?


I want to be able to measure mine pretty accurately (to the nearest 1%) so that i can track it every 2 weeks or so and see the difference in result. How can I do this? A Gym instructor looked at me and said my BF is probably 13%.. mind u i was wearing a vest at the time!

take a ruler in milimeeters, pull skin out and measure between each finger how much skin u gram on three sites, chest, abs, quad and find an online bf calculator

buy some body fat calipers... use a calculator like this to keep tabs http://www.linear-software.com/online.html

I have had it taken at the doctor's office before.

if you just want to see the difference in results, you don't have to be really accurate - you just have to measure yourself the same each time. get yourself some calipers and learn how to measure yourself. It's cheap, and you can track your own progress by just measuring the same way each time.

Just did GM's for the first time yesterday, after doing deadlifts my back is sore like a mofo today.. I <3 it from now on I'm rotating gm's and deads every other week

I got lazy and I rounded my lower back during the last set of GM's today. :- I have to focus more or I am going to get injured.

zeromagnus GMs are the one exercise I excel in at my gym...kinda weird, but I'll take whatever I can get does anyone else do them though?
