ok i searched before and found alot of questions about it but not alot of explaining on what it was. I just reread the fat loss sticky and found my answer. Now my next question is.....Is it ok to do while still working out? Or will this cause even more muscle to be lost?

nic379 what does it stand for and what is it? It is something that you shouldn't even think about doing. Unless I am mistaken, you are just starting out working out. PSMF is the most difficult diet out there. It will retain muscle, but if not done with proper refeeds and such, will cause you to gain back all the fat you lose. It is not for the amateur and pointless unless you are cutting for a competition.

I pretty much have to force myself to take a break. Thing is I'm okay with this scedule for up to 6-8 weeks before beginning to feel possibly over trained.

3 days for me

4 days a week. i train every body part twice a week. for example on mondays i do chest: bench, incline flies thursday chest: incline, decline i train all body parts about 16 sets a week split up into 2 days. legs/DL/shrugs is only once a week.

Yesh Given my druthers, I'd do an hour of cardio and an hour of weights at least 6 days a week, I just plain love working out.

At the risk of too much information, I'm wondering if anyone experiences this? On days that my protein intake is high, and on heavy workout days (leg days especially), I notice that my urine foams a little. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Liquids foam when they contain protein (try putting some water in the cup after a shake and wiggle it around). This means that you are probably excreting excess proteins (bad thing). Get that checked out.

i actually get it too. last bloodwork pointed everything to being ok. :/ maybe i have a yeast infection..

a light beer or a jack and coke? what i really should be drinking is jack and diet coke, but i can't bring myself to order it at a bar. i used to drink that and i got constant shit from people including the bartender. im tracking my calories on fitday.com and 5 jack and cokes really throws my day off drinking is a real weakness for me

doesnt matter youll get an extra 16 calories or something with a beer over liquor but its the amount of alcohol in the drink that contains the calories. Thats why a shot has about the same calories as a light beer +/- a couple grams of carbs

background info: I jogged every other day from about may '04 - october '04 fine. I gradually jogged more and more, and by the end of october i was running 3x more/day than i was at the begining. The only problems i experienced were mild shin splints during the first couple weeks which went away and never returned. I started running again about 2-3 weeks ago and already run as much as i did in october (although i did next to no running all winter). The only problems ive been experiencing is with my lungs/breathing. I'll be running well at a good pace, and just start coughing and hacking randomly, it's brutal. I was doing HIIT in my gym class doing 400m runs and i would have to stop sometimes because it got so bad. I just cough and cough and cough... I don't know what it is. i'm not sick at all, i have no other symptoms at all. I dont smoke. It doesn't really hurt as much, it's just a nuisance and fucks up my routine. anyone know what i could do to prevent this? or what's causing it? thanks

How exactly were you doing HIIT? 400m is way too long. Try doing 100m at 50-70% (roughly 8-10mph), then jog or walk the next 100m.

I'd also guess a form of asthma, get it checked out

You might have what I had. I ran for a couple months. On a warmer day, I was at about mile 3 when i started slightly coughing/wheezing.. then it felt like my throat was closing up. I started freakin out, and it went away after 10 minutes. Went to the doc, and ends up I have "exercise induced asthma".. Got an inhaler, use it extremely rarely.

I don't spend enough time at home to be making all of this food, but in between classes I have time to stop by McDonalds (chicken selects), Chick-Fil-A (12 nuggets), Burger King (Chicken tenders), etc Cost of fast food aside, is this good for bulking. 160 right now up from 155, looking to get to around 165-170ish. I'm 5'10.

why not aim a little higher like 190, it shouldnt take you much time to hit 165-170
