sweet, 2 days and I got my stuff I asked in the comments if they'd throw me in a shaker cup they did that, plus samples, plus some magazine

Lucky you.

should have asked for a free shirt

i've never gotten a shaker/shirt

im gonna finally get my stuff tomorrow, i hope i get some free shit after all of this trouble.

AznRyda Lucky you. Wow....that sucks

AznRyda Lucky you.

he threw in samples of neuro stim+c, i'm nto going to attribute a good workout to it, but i did seem to be able to do a lil more

okay, the samples they gave me make me more wired than a chimpanzee on crack, i love it even though it tastes similar to vomit

I got 2 shaker cups with my last order from them

ive had 1fast orders take 15+ days, a couple of them, which is why i dont use them anymore, to inconsistant.

Jeff Coleman ive had 1fast orders take 15+ days, a couple of them, which is why i dont use them anymore, to inconsistant. You live about 600 miles closer to them than I do and I've never had it take more than 3 days...

Jeff Coleman ive had 1fast orders take 15+ days, a couple of them, which is why i dont use them anymore, to inconsistant. i've only had 1 bad experience with them, and it happened to be around the holidays. they're a great vendor and i'm happy to deal with them.

guess some of us just arent lucky, its weird i usually do get them in about 3-4 days, but then every once in a while one will take 15+ days, and i will have to go to GNC and buy a small thing of protein to last until my order comes, which really pisses me off. I been ordering from www.allsportsnutrition.com lately, its cheaper than 1fast, shipping is very consistant, and i still get all the free samples, a better free magazine, and all that crap

if it takes long its usually UPS's fault and not 1fast400 right?

Ive ordered about 10 times in the last 6 months from them (I have friends who are less internet savvy). Everything arrived within 2 days each time and Ive always gotten a bunch of extras thrown in there. I wont order from anywhere else.

AznRyda Lucky you. damn. if you had them send it ups i would've gotten it cleared for you

How many of you have ever done Ahren's Presses?

I tried them last week and I think I might use them for a while to switch things up. Difficult, to say the least.

ACURA TL-S I tried them last week and I think I might use them for a while to switch things up. Difficult, to say the least. description, pictures, what the hell is this?

D. Ahrens Press Chuck Ahrens is relatively unknown to most modern trainees, but in his time he was considered to have the strongest shoulders and arms in the world. He was so wide he looked unreal! In his prime, Ahrens could do reps with 200 pound dumbbells in the shoulder press (some people even claim to have seen him press a 300 pound dumbbell with one arm), perform 28 reps with 405 in the bench press, and perform a slow and controlled concentration curl with a 115 pound barbell. One of his shoulder exercises was very peculiar: he'd do overhead dumbbell presses, but instead of pressing them straight up he'd press them up and away laterally (basically doing a "V" with both arms). He had no choice but to press in this matter because he used special loadable dumbbells that were very long; pressing them straight up was thus impossible without the bells hitting each other. What this exercise does is place the shoulders, especially the medial portion of the deltoid, under greater tension as the movement gets completed.

looks interesting. might have to try those tomorrow in place fo the regular db shoudler press

i might try these!

those #s are bs

115lb barbell isn't impressive at all for a curl

Werdna 115lb barbell isn't impressive at all for a curl One armed concentration curls?

cavefish One armed concentration curls? why is he curling a barbell with one arm then?

Hell I don't know but I seriously doubt someone who benched 405 for 28 reps and DB shoulder pressed 300 would only curl 115 with a barbell.

I've done them quite a bit before i cut down on how much overhead pressing I do. I liked them a lot.

cavefish Hell I don't know but I seriously doubt someone who benched 405 for 28 reps and DB shoulder pressed 300 would only curl 115 with a barbell. I agree. Those numbers are believable.

ouch. cant be good for rotators does it hurt?

Sounds like some Irish drink to me

I don't know if I can believe what he benched, but I will have to try these.

200lb db shoulder presses? 300 lbs? bs ronnie just got some 200lb dbs and im not sure if he can do them yet on flat bench

Uh...Ronnie does sets of 10 with the 200lb DB's in a video thats several years old.

But on the other hand Noxen, you may be onto something. Here's an interesting little read on the guy: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/cyberpump14.htm

cavefish Uh...Ronnie does sets of 10 with the 200lb DB's in a video thats several years old. in the cost of redemption he does 160lb db overhead presses..

I was referring to flat bench.

i believe the number and the hype.

cavefish I was referring to flat bench. i dont think he db presses the 200s on fb yet he just got them for his birthday or something..he does do shrugs with them though..

NoXeN i dont think he db presses the 200s on fb yet he just got them for his birthday or something..he does do shrugs with them though.. that was 250's. He does the 200's for 12 in some video, they zoom the camera right up to the "200" on the side of the dumbell before they show him doing them.

ahh my mistake

It looks dangerous for shoulders.

How many of you have ever done Ahren's Presses?

Interesting method of changing fat content of steaks

Interesting method of changing fat content of steaks

Felt like I was watching Good Eats 1. Cut away all of the visible fat, then place steak in a large resealable plastic bag along with 1/2 cup red wine and 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil. 2. Allow the meat to marinate for 24 hours, flip the bag a couple of times. 3. Take the steak out and drain for an hour, throw away the marinade. The wine works as a solvent to suck out a good amount of the sat. fat in the steak, which will be replaced by the monounsaturated fat. Of course, this won't change the fat content of the steak, just the type. I don't konw if just using the wine would simply defat it.

/boggle Link to this?? One thing that strikes me is if you don't know the exact amount of fat in the steak to start with you might *add* fat with the olive oil

yet another cottage cheese question...

yet another cottage cheese question...

Ok, I've done the searches and you guys say when to eat it and what to eat it with, but I didn't really hear anything about how much to eat. I'm about 5'9" 160lbs. I don't care if I lose weight or not (if anything I'd like to gain 5-10 pounds), I'm just using it for the protein value, because I know now that I'm not taking whey anymore, I could use it. Anyway, I'm eating about a-cup-and-a-half of fat-free cottage cheese mixed with half a cup of fat-free strawberry yogurt before I sleep. Does that sound right to you guys?

That's about 50 grams of protein but I can't tell you any more than that

2 cups post workout 1 cup before bed well, thats what I do

If you hope to gain 10lbs, but don't care if you lose weight, you don't need to be worrying about the protein value in cottage cheese. Figure out your goals!

KDubb 2 cups post workout 1 cup before bed well, thats what I do Thanks. This sounds pretty reasonable. I gotta start splitting up my meals too. I've been eating 2 large meals per day when I could easily split that into 4 smaller ones without much trouble.

Socrates If you hope to gain 10lbs, but don't care if you lose weight, you don't need to be worrying about the protein value in cottage cheese. Figure out your goals! my goal is to put on a few pounds of muscle without gaining any fat. I've decided to restructure my workout now that my lifestyle's going to be changing. At the same time I want to target certain areas and add more emphasis to my legs (which is where I'd like to gain the weight if possible), by sacrificing some of my upper body lifts. I figure as long as my workout's going to be changing, I should do some tweaking to my diet too while I'm at it. I know for a fact that I'm probably not getting enough protein now that I'm not supplementing anymore. Right now is mostly experimentation to figure out what works best. I've had good results with Myoplex but got off about 6 months ago. I'm going to start again soon, but like I said, I'm experimenting.

cedric my goal is to put on a few pounds of muscle without gaining any fat. buy some protien and lift, thats all you really need to do

Before bed is best; cottage cheese contains casein protein, which digests very slowly and will prevent your body from going catabolic during the night. But I would take some whey after working out; post workout you want fast-digesting protein that will be quickly absorbed. Of course, cottage cheese after workout or any other time is great; just saying you'll probably want to add in some whey too.

KDubb 2 cups post workout 1 cup before bed well, thats what I do Doing that after working out is NOT smart. YOU want whey after a workout. NOT casein.

Neo22 Doing that after working out is NOT smart. YOU want whey after a workout. NOT casein. i do both

KDubb buy some protien and lift, thats all you really need to do that's what I've been doing for the past 8 years, but I figured I'd try the cottage cheese just because you guys seem to swear by it. Up until college I was really only lifting for strength. Now I'm mostly doing it to maintain muscle. I've seen too many of my friends go down hill because of college and I'm not about to let that happen to me. Like I said, the myoplex was the best protein I've tried out, and I'm going to get back on it ASAP. (btw, do you guys know anywhere I can get it cheaper than muscledepot.com?) Thanks for the advice.

Socrates That will take a really long time. Can someone say how long it takes to usually gain like 10 lbs of LBM? I can't remember. I'm not in any kind of rush. It's a longterm goal. I've been 160 for the past 6 years and I figure 165-170 is a good maintainable weight for me to be at.
